  1. After swinging at ball 4, that's a big-time HR by Pete.
  2. =ashie62 post_id=108802 time=1664323253 user_id=90] Nationals 2 Braves 0 top 4th
  3. Carrasco is making that "4th starter in the playoffs" discussion moot.
  4. The creepy SMILE woman is back.
  5. There is a State of Emergency for Georgia effective on Thursday.
  6. Jerry Blevins in the TV booth tonight for Keith and Ron.
  7. It's 9:30 AM on Tuesday and I wish that it was 7:10 PM.
  8. I was at dinner tonight and a Nationals fan was there. I said, "I need your team to win two of three" and he said, "not a chance".
  9. https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/Atlanta+GA?canonicalCityId=508c6a2d4ca8386de1772c4316073b1448fb270ee2d264d01c7b2a4b33073688https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/Atlanta+GA?canonicalCityId=508c6a2d4ca8386de1772c4316073b1448fb270ee2d264d01c7b2a4b33073688 From this, perhaps a rainout on Friday, they play on Saturday, and a D/N DH on Sunday? Sunday's game is mandated for 7:10 due to ESPN.
  10. Edgy MD wrote: With a small amount of effort this year, the baseball schedule could have been mostly accommodating to Rosh Hashanah this year, with the two-day observance falling from sundown Sunday to sundown Tuesday, which is already the most inactive period in any baseball week. Of course, observation of the prohibition on travel would still be problematic. My opinion is that a New York team shouldn't play during Yom Kippur but the Mets will be playing twice. The Tuesday game could have been a day game but the Wednesday games are mandated to start at a specific time so the Mets couldn't play on Wednesday night.
  11. WSH is home against PHI so PHI is available as is BAL (hangout at Edgy's!).
  12. Frayed Knot wrote: I gotta hand it to Spike Lee. As Judge is up there trying for his 61st HR, Spike was one of the few people actually watching the action live. He was there because there were cameras there to look at him.
  13. PHI, as noted above, had 1st and 2d, none out in the 10th and didn't score. PHI lost 5 of 7 to ATL. Ph*ck them.
  14. The Mets finally return home for two games with the Miami Marlins. The Mets have a (1, 1.5, 2) game lead on the 2d place Braves who continue their three-game series in WSH. Tonight, Carlos Carrasco takes the mound for the Mets. Carrasco's last outing was a poor one, against MIL. He faced MIA on 9/10, went 6 innings and only gave up 1 ER. This will be his 5th start against MIA. For the Marlins, it's Pablo Lopez coming off a strong outing against CHC, 6 2/3, 1 ER. The Mets crushed him on 9/10 when he gave up 8 ER in 3 2/3. This is the 5th time he will face the Mets (not counting at least 2 or 3 times in ST). Game time is 7:10.
  15. Frayed Knot wrote: If you had offered me a 2 -2 split when the series began I'd have taken it. Kind of disappointing, though, after Philly started two games to none. They played 7 games and ATL won 5 which either means that ATL didn't wilt against a good opponent or PHI is not a good team and ATL took advantage.
  16. Ugh. Bottom of the 1st, ATL has a runner on 2B, flyball to the track, Marsh holds his arms out b/c of the SUN and perhaps his lack of sunglasses. the ball falls in and a run scores. there were 2 outs so it would have ended the inning. And it's followed by a double so it's 2-0 ATL. BUT PHI has scored 3 in the top of the 1st!
  17. A 4:07 start in Oakland. Hopefully, the Mets aren't psyched out by the sun after yesterday's fiasco. Max Scherzer takes the mound for the Mets. He's awesome, as you know. JP Sears (LHP) is pitching for Oakland. He pitched 5 shutout innings against SEA in his last outing. Let's put Sears out of business! https://www.mlb.com/player/jp-sears-676664https://www.mlb.com/player/jp-sears-676664
  18. Per Ken Rosenthal and others: "Miami Herald reporting that Mattingly and the Marlins have reached a mutual agreement on this being his final season as the team's manager." May the Marlins be so devastated that they can barely take the field on Tuesday and Wednesday but recover so they do everything they can to give Mattingly three wins against ATL in his final three games as their manager.
  19. Gary mentioned the weather forecast for ATL. It's not great. https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/Atlanta+GA?canonicalCityId=508c6a2d4ca8386de1772c4316073b1448fb270ee2d264d01c7b2a4b33073688https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/Atlanta+GA?canonicalCityId=508c6a2d4ca8386de1772c4316073b1448fb270ee2d264d01c7b2a4b33073688
  20. 3-0 with Jake on the mound against a POS team. Pathetic.
  21. Why wasn't McNeil's fall an error? He didn't touch the ball but he obviously should have caught it and it lead to 3 runs.
  22. Spencer Strider to the IL. A big blow to ATL or was it just bad luck?
  23. SOME OF US WON'T BE ABLE TO FALL ASLEEP!!!
  24. Edgy MD wrote: Was it just me or was that woman with the "SMILE" shirt in yellow really creepy? I noticed that she stands up once in a while to either bring attention to her message or herself. I just guessed that you must be referring to the woman in the neon green shirt, and then she stood up, and YUP! STOP SHOWING HER! She doesn't even blink!!!
  25. With Keith out, I guess that we'll get Todd Zeile on Tuesday as Ronnie has TBS work. Ronnie will be back for Wednesday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday are on other channels.
