    Sean Murphy, the OAK C, can hit. Gary said that the Mets haven't been to OAK in 8 years... and they will be there in the last full month of this regular season and again in the first full month of the next regular season.

    Kay isn't going to big-foot onto the Apple+ show so good for him. Still, MFY fans are upset that the game is exclusively on Apple+ so the NY AG issued a statement telling them that there's a free way to subscribe. I would have told them to STFU.

    Nimmo is fine but I'd still rest him, and McNeil, on Friday, if possible. The Mets might see 3 LHPs this series.     Look at this bullshit. It doesn't affect us, why would go through the trouble of putting on Apple+ to see this game, but MFY fans are so whiny that they have to have their mediocre PBP guy forced into the booth of another announcing team so they can hear his scripted call.     I'm guessing that Brandon sits on Friday as the Mets face a LHP (McNeil could sit, too). I'd like to see Mangum have a chance as he is a good fielder and, as MFS62 said, is swinging a hot bat but I wonder if Buck wants to bring in a newbie this late in the season. Palka has done so well and hasn't gotten the call so I have a feeling that they don't think too much of him. Regardless, I think you're right, a reinforcement will be in Oakland (in Vientos' spot) on Friday.

    Marte isn't ready to return but it might be time to end the Vientos trial run. I don't who else to call up but Vientos isn't ready. Hopefully, Marte will be ready a week from Friday.

    Gore isn't going anywhere (except for 2d base). I'm not advocating for this move as far as the bench goes, in fact, it's the wrong move for the bench, but I think it's the right move for Pete.

    I wonder if the Mets would be better served with Dom on the roster rather Vientos. Dom is hot in Syracuse and is a good fielder so he could give Pete a needed half-day off. I know that Dom is a lefty and Vientos is a righty so it impacts the bench but I'd like to see Pete semi-chill for a day or two without impacting the defense.

    Jake and Johan Oviedo (RHP) faced each other in the night game of the day/night doubleheader in PIT. Oviedo didn't fare so good, going 1 2/3 and giving up 4 ER. Jake went 7 shutout innings, striking out 8.

    Mgr. Shelton is making Hayes' in-game snack worse by not benching him today. It shows the team that there are no repercussions.

    Speaking of getting released by the Red Sox, Kevin Plawecki was DFA'd. If the Mets are considering going with 3 catchers on the post-season roster, Plawecki might be a better choice than Michael Perez. We see that Cohen listens and doesn't hesitate to spend what to him is not a lot of money (but is money that the Wilpons wouldn't spend) to improve the team.
