  1. I hope that this doesn't mean that they are "all in" for '23 to the extent that they will do anything to get Jake but Bochy wouldn't come out of retirement for a rebuild.
  2. If you're a NYY manager or write about the NYYs it's perfectly fine to cite the roof being open as the reason why the NYYs lost but forget it if the Mets ever made an excuse like that one.
  3. In the newly created "Utility" category you will not find Luis Guillorme or Jeff McNeil but you will find Tommy Edman who is nominated at 2B and Daulton Varsho who is nominated at RF. To me, if you've played enough at a position to be worthy of a nomination at that position then you should not be nominated for the award created for players who move around the field. https://www.mlb.com/news/2022-gold-glove-awards-finalistshttps://www.mlb.com/news/2022-gold-glove-awards-finalists
  4. This post made me very happy.
  5. Do you think that Buck would let a challenge go by? Not a chance but Francona did even though he would have won the challenge.
  6. Not who you think will win but who do you WANT to win? You gotta pick, you can't say "F 'em both". Padres: CON: They beat our guys. They acted holier than thou at the ear inspection when one of their stars was banned for being a juicer. PRO: We really don't give a crap about them for most of the season. Phillies: CON: We hate them. They hate us more. PRO: They beat Atlanta, so thank you. The Mets are much, much better than they are.
  7. 'Rosenthal: Too soon to cite new format as reason for MLB postseason upsets" (From The Athletic). The 101-win Mets lose and it's "#LOLMets" but ATL and LAD lose and "the system might be flawed!"
  8. Bye-lanta! F every single one of them, F their fans, F their Front Office, and F the Governor of Georgia while I'm at it.
  9. Maybe the Braves, the brilliant team that makes every move correctly and is so much smarter than every other team, shouldn't have started a pitcher who hadn't pitched in a month.
  10. =ashie62 post_id=110982 time=1665368144 user_id=90] The Phillies move on, ouch
  11. Nido batting in the 9th speaks volumes about the roster construction of this team.
  12. Musgrove had pitched 22 innings over his last 4 starts (1 ER) but the grind-every-AB Mets couldn't hit him and he lasted 7.
  13. Diaz should have started the inning.
  14. Poor widdle baby. The Mets were hit 106+ times and did nothing. He gets felt up once and cries. What a dick.
  15. Frayed Knot wrote: This is going to look bad for Buck/Mets if this search doesn't turn up something. Worse than losing the WC series?
  16. Should be PHing Luis now for Nido.
  17. The Mets were hit 105 times and barely looked over. POS Grisham gets hit and stares at the Mets dugout while the ESPN announcers say that it was "suspicious". F 'em all.
  18. Bassitt can opt-out. Maybe he can go to a lower-pressured environment like Anaheim.
  19. Max, Jake, Bassitt. 2 big starts for each, one against ATL and one here. One good start out of six.
  20. Bassitt is giving them the chance to get these hits with his walks. Should have started Walker who can handle NY.
  21. Grisham hit under .200 but he hits two HRs and they're pitching around him like he's Tony Gwynn.
  22. 0-2 pitch. Does Buck have someone up?
