  1. Where the hell was Yo going? And if someone was going to be doubled off, I would have bet the farm on Murphy.
  2. Right. Terry's been fantastic but putting in Familia with a six run lead, whether to give him work or get him on track after Game 1, was a mistake.
  3. PiggiesTomatoes wrote: Agree with leaving in Colon. I wouldn't want anyone pitching in relief to pitch to the same guy twice but for the love of God, he's a starter. Let him go through the line-up once. Why doesn't he rub some of that pine tar he keeps in his pocket.
  4. What Vladius said above. There was no reason to take Colon out. Maybe he is awful but maybe he pitches a clean inning which pushes Reed to the 8th and no Clippard.
  5. Walk, walk, error, cheap single and that might cost the Mets the series.
  6. WAA! WAA! WAA! http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/vahe-gregorian/article42048891.html Jeff Passan wrote in Yahoo!: "the Royals believe they're the alphas, and they don't like the feeling of being bullied when they're typically the aggressor." Maybe Thor got them off their game for more than just one night.
  7. Have the Mets faced a team that makes contact as much as the Royals?
  8. Steve Allen used to do a bit where he just read aloud letters to the Daily News.
  9. I keep looking at the clock. No rain delay, please!
  10. Terry stays true to lefty/righty/lefty, etc.
  11. The Royals finally announced their rotation. In Game 1, it's Edinson Volquez: http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/6401/edinson-volquez I wonder if Kelly Johnson's 4 for 14 will make him the DH (I'm not endorsing it, just trying to think like Terry).
  12. Are there any reasons to hate the Royals, other than they are the speed bump on our road to the World Championship. Right now, they are a generic opponent from a generic location. No reason to dislike the Royals, no reason to dislike Kansas City. Smug Ned Yost is a good place to start. I didn't like him when he was the Braves 3B coach (because he was wearing the Braves uniform). Now he admits that he's a "punk": http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2015/10/25/ned-yost-hasnt-announced-his-world-series-rotation-because-im-being-a-little-bit-of-a-punk/
  13. Guys! is all positive energy and he'll be there for FOX Sports.
  14. Mets logo at 1:13 of this trailer for the new Julia Roberts movie:
  15. The Royals 4 starters are right-handers. Does Cuddyer DH? Kelly Johnson? Does Lagares go to CF, Yo to LF, and Conforto to DH?
  16. Eric Gregg from the Great Beyond with the strike two call on Revere. Awful.
  17. If you thought "I have nothing against the Kansas City Royals", here's one (from Wikipedia): For the rest of the decade Limbaugh took jobs at several radio stations, working in music radio, before settling in Kansas City. In 1979, he left radio and accepted a position as director of promotions with the Kansas City Royals baseball team. There he developed a close friendship with then-Royals star third baseman and future Hall of Famer George Brett; the two remain close friends. Per Google search, he congratulated them last year via his website but I don't want to click on that link.
  18. Paul Rudd. Jason Sudeikis. Rob Riggle. Eric Stonestreet. Funny guys, fans of the 2015 World Series loser. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2014/10/22/heres-why-paul-rudd-jason-sudeikis-rob-riggle-and-eric-stonestreet-love-the-royals/
  19. I feel the same was a CF. The only things I really learned are that: 1) Maddon complains a lot about balls and strikes; 2) Schwarber would be a great DH and I'm interested in seeing what they do about his fielding; 3) Soler can hit; 4) the ivy should be trimmed (not a metaphor for anything).
  20. I've bashed Sandy for years but he deserves credit for not just making the right moves but for seeing the opportunity and acting. WSH didn't pull away and Sandy acted. While Rizzo messed up by getting Paplebon and LAD didn't improve their rotation, Sandy acted and everything he did worked (he gets a mulligan on O'Flaherty). I look forward to the revised version of "Baseball Maverick."
  21. Condolences to d'Kong76. I feel so good that I started singing aloud to a song on the loudspeaker at a Subway. And I'm tired. It will be good to get to bed a little earlier.
  22. Gilmartin in, Goodell out.
  23. If there's a Game 7, I will be there.
