  1. The MFYs have minimized their relationship with StubHub and are not allowing their ticket holders to print tickets at home. They say it's to "combat fraud": http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2016/02/17/the-yankees-escalate-their-war-on-stubhub/ Let Lonn Trost explain further: http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2016/02/18/yankees-coo-lonn-trost-gives-a-snobby-and-elitist-explanation-for-new-ticket-polcities/ Why doesn't he ask Trump to build a wall around the high priced seats to keep the rest of us out?
  2. This game (7/26/13): http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/gamedetail.php?gameno=8303&tabno=D Mejia pitches 7 shutout innings. I was there--great game.
  3. Tejada can't hit (even if he is above the mean) well enough to be a bench player and I doubt that he can play 3d. That's what fueled my Reynolds soothsaying. Cabrera and Walker can play 3d so perhaps there is no need for Reynolds and Tejada stays.
  4. I don't know if time outs will help but I like anything that will move things along. One simple fix is that the manager/coach cannot leave the dugout to talk to the pitcher without removing the pitcher. No more freebie just to chat.
  5. I thinks that is exactly what it means. So for the mere cost of $10, I won't have to suffer through the Nationals broadcasters.
  6. Thanks for your opinion about my opinion in a dopey thread. Relax.
  7. Ryan Reynolds is already having a big year with "Deadpool"... sorry, I meant Matt Reynolds. Plays 2B, SS and 3B and at some point in the season, the Mets will look for a better backup 3B than Flores and wonder why they have a guy on the bench who can't hit (Tejada). Reynolds can hit and can play 3 positions. He is recalled ("what was his name again?") and fills in for The Captain every 4th day. A few key hits and there's your unexpected hero for 2016.
  8. Against Philadelphia, using his foot to perfectly deflect the ball to the Mets first baseman and then running hard to the bag to catch the throw.
  9. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", February 2, 2016. It's Peralta's Birthday (Andy Samberg), his mother says that it's time for his surprise. Peralta says excitedly: "you got me the '86 Mets?" but it might get awkward, some of them turned out to be drug addicts (something like that).
  10. Parnell can throw wild pitches that give the Nationals walk-off wins for another team. Move on.

    Lineup

Because Terry likes going lefty-righty: Granderson Wright Conforto Cespedes Duda d'Arnaud Walker Cabrera Stud Pitcher. Edgy's accomplishes the same thing and that might be the one that is used when the season starts.
  13. Just like themetfairy, I will also be at the games @ MIA on 3/17 and home v WSH on 3/18.
  14. I just put rum in my hot chocolate but that's less for Cespedes and more for being stuck in the house for 2 days and counting.
  15. Thank you FK.
  16. Big power threat who steals very little is still batting leadoff (I'd prefer if Granderson batted lower but there isn't another candidate to bat first and Terry likes him there). The bench needs power: Tejada, Flores, de Aza, Lagares, Pawlecki. It would be nice to swap de Aza for a backup outfielder with pop.
  17. Just asking: can the Mets trade de Aza (i.e., can you trade a player who you just signed as a Free Agent)? The Mets would be better with a more powerful bat coming off the bench.
  18. Great news. Plus: Washington doesn't get him.
  19. Benjamin Grimm wrote: The only aspect of this story that matters: Are the Orioles still in on Cespedes, or are they no longer in the picture?I'm positive that they are "out" which leaves very few opportunities for Yo.
  20. Obviously spend more money on player acquisition and... 1. Tear down the existing scoreboards and reconfigure Citi Field to have a great scoreboard without ads hanging from the side. 2. Take 500 or so seats, charge $10 per ticket, and make them only available on the day of the game. (On that note, have a Mets cap available for $10. It might be of lower quality but the Angels did this one year so every Dad could buy his son/daughter a cap.) 3. Make giveaways available to all and not just the first 15,000.
  21. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/nats-didnt-get-whom-they-wanted-but-feel-like-they-got-whom-they-needed/2016/01/07/13133ec6-b56f-11e5-9388-466021d971de_story.html GM Rizzo praises Murphy "smart baseball mind". Sure.

  23. Retire his number.
  24. HahnSolo wrote: Big HR off Strasburg, when Strasburg was absolutely cruising, in the final game of the sweep in September. Led off the 8th to tie the game; later in inning Cespedes crushed Storen's soul. That HR was a thing of beauty. I was there and we knew it was gone as soon as it left his bat.
