  1. Wow! I'd like Jose much more if he were a Blue Jay.
  2. But, again, would this really be news? I think (regardless of the validity of this report) that the writing's been on the wall for a while. I will say that with every passing day my optimism about re-signing Dickey or Wright fades.
  3. I feel stronger already.
  4. Haven't we known for a couple years that the Wilpons are broke?
  5. My memory of Jason Bay will be that he was one of the highest-paid, lowest-output guys the Mets have EVER signed. I'm sure he's a nice guy and a hard worker, but I'd rather him have been a prick that produced.
  6. I have edited to flip Hefner with Rauch and Batista with Byrdak.
  7. I did it a lot.
  8. 30 R.A. 9. It is about (real) time someone got Maher a cap that didn't have any black on it, though. He had some quip about investing in the Mets a few weeks ago on his show. They were discussing where the next financial bubble would occur and a former chairperson of the FDIC said the bond bubble. The conservative guest joked, "Keep your capital gains where you've got them." Maher said, "I put mine in the Mets. That's not going anywhere. The Mets will be here when everything else is dust."
  10. Personally, I think it's going to be difficult for Jeter to come back from this at all being 38 years old.
  11. Finally saw this on PPV. I was pleasantly surprised. With so many characters, this movie had the potential to be a huge disaster, but it held it's own IMO. I liked it much more than the Thor and Captain America lead-ins. I really enjoyed Ruffalo as Banner, but still missed Norton for continuity's sake. Downey rocks Iron Man as usual, hard to argue with Vic on Black Widow and I liked Samuel Jackson in a flick for the first time in a long time. I gave it a 7 and will see the sequel.
  12. Even though this season was a major bummer, Johan's no-hitter, Dickey's great season and Wright breaking the hits record will still make it more memorable than other sucky seasons. My magic moment came on Wednesday, June 13th at Tampa Bay. The Mets had beaten the Rays 11-2 the night before and Dickey was ROLLING to 10 wins against 1 loss. When we chased superstar David Price after 5 innings and 7 earned runs, it was one of the few times that I honestly thought this team could realistically compete in 2012. Oops.
  13. San Fran vs. Detroit...only because that was my pre-season pick. I have a feeling there will be an all-time low amount of playoff baseball wathcing in my household this season.

  15. I'm fine with figuring out the new process. Seems fun.
  16. The new system seems awfully confusing...but could be useful as well. I'm open to either option, but I guess I prefer the voting a player off as that was my understanding of what would happen going into the season. Fun season, by the way. Great job, all!
  17. The Mets have about a dozen concerns that are bigger than Tejada, IMO.
  18. I'm guessing that Jose doens't lay down a bunt single and then take the rest of the game off.
  19. Now that the Nats have finally won a division championship, I instantly hate them and I'm rooting against them. It's mostly Bryce Harper's fault, bro.
  20. Ver-douchey wrote: The stat: Dickey has won 77 percent of his decisions (20-6) while everybody else for the same club has won just 38 percent (53-81). Yikes.
  21. Edgy DC wrote: ...grab an inning or two of relief on Wednesday if it would give him a chance to grab an extra win. This would leave a bunt-single-then-leave-the-game taste in my mouth.
  22. You forgot the rimshot tags.
  23. Awesome for Dickey! 20 is amazing. 21 would be Dickey-rific.
  24. Belated congrats to David!
