  1. Harvey can't get Major League hitters out anymore. Maybe he can learn this, but his OJT is going crappily.
  2. Gonzalez with another hard-hit ball to deep right field. That seems to be as far as he can hit them anymore.
  3. Conforto suxxxx. Glad Zimmo is rotting away on the pine.
  4. I'm too slow. HR Markakis, 6-0 now. Um....
  5. Definitely bad BUT hyperextended elbows are not a common baseball injury, are they? Unless he ripped tendons while this happened, I'm hopeful he's back in a few weeks. And I'm not an optimist about anything.
  6. Last night's AB was pathetic, but he prob should have either been bunting or swinging away, not back-to-back butcher boys. That's gotta be super difficult. Either way, he's looked overmatched and has a shit grasp of the strike zone. And that beard. I think a few weeks in Vegas would be a very good thing for him.
  7. C'mon, Alyssa. I'm pulling for you

I would guess she would try to engage the fan base across different social media platforms (tweets, instas, snapchats, youtubes, etc) and hopefully have some unique pieces with the players, too. Funnier stuff, stuff you wouldn't see on MLB.com or SNY or whateva.
  10. Centerfield wrote: My feelings on this: *partying during your own time is every ball player's prerogative. Probably a ton of guys do stuff like this and it never gets reported *but partying like this certainly doesn't give the impression that the ballplayer is trying his hardest. Even though he might be. So you understand if fans are upset *I don't get the feeling Matt Harvey is trying his hardest. Completely agree. And I would wager that Matt Harvey was not the only Met going out or having a cocktail after they arrived on the west coast. But if he drove 3+ hours (one way!) after a 4-hour flight, it surely makes it look like being good at baseball is #1 on his priorities list. If he did take a separate flight (like Ceets guessed) so he could party down in Beverly Hills instead of going with the team to SD, well that looks even shittier to me.
  11. This thing says the Mets traveled from STL to San Diego, not LAX. So if that's correct, first pitch on get-away day in STL was 12:17 local time and time of game was 4 hours, 11 minutes. They prob don't get out of STL til 6pm at the earliest. Flight from STL to SD is 4 hours, so they arrive, say 8, 8:30, local time after gaining 2 hours. If he gets a car right away and has zero traffic, he arrives in Beverly Hills around 11pm. Matt Harvey, folks. they're just citing the schedule. We don't know if the Mets had a layover in LAX, or if Harvey simply took a different flight, as he's done before. I found a use for twitter, yall. [tweet] [/tweet] A flight from STL to SD is 4 hours. Doesn't sound like an LAX layover, which wouldn't make any sense anyway. Matt Harvey, folks!

And Alyssa had no idea her father works for the Mets organization. In fact, Alyssa doesn't even know who her father is. I don't care. If she's good at the job and the content is interesting and funny and hopefully different, then great. Her instagram is, uh, fun to look at.

  14. Article says her old man didn't even know she was after the job. Bring fresh ideas! Make the Mets Cool (Again?)!
  15. Looks like we're getting the Braves #3 (according to MLB) prospect Mike Soroka, who just got the call up today. 6' 5", hard-throwing righty. Has 1.99 ERA at AAA with 9.5 K/9.
  16. Thursday was get-away day. So if the Mets flew into LAX that night, it sounds less stupid. Hang out in LA Thursday night, drive down to San Diego on Friday. Now if they flew into San Diego and he drove 4 hours back to Beverly Hills...
  17. Ah, good find. I didn't know he had thoracic outlet, too. And what a quote: "I love the Mets organization; they've treated me great," he said. "They're always lifting us up."
  18. David Thompson got Plawecki'd, out 4-6 weeks.
  19. I was gonna comment that 62 was gonna be tough to beat, but we got a match here!
  20. Centerfield wrote: Lefty Specialist wrote: Considering that right now they have two functioning starters, Syndergaard and deGrom, it's really important that the Mets get ahead and win the games they pitch. Otherwise you have to rely on bullpen magic and late-inning heroics, which are nice when they happen, but are not a sustainable game plan. Yup. How quickly the optimism surrounding this year's starting pitching morphed into the familiar exasperation that surrounded last year's.
  21. [tweet:g4bylzxb] [/tweet:g4bylzxb] Keith said he thought he lost it in the sun, too. It looked like a crappy jump to me, Juan didn't really get too close to it.
