  2. Man, Tim Anderson has dropped off a fucking cliff. He's so fun to watch, I hope he gets right. In 4 days.
  3. Yeah $10M next year in his age 32 season and $15M in '25 and '26 (with club option for another $15M or $2M buyout in '27) is pretty affordable if you believe he'll bounce back questionmarkquestionmarkquestionmark shrugemoji shrugemoji??? I would be shopping him pretty damn hard to put some arms in our top prospect drawers.
  4. I found a great car Francisco can get for McNeil. It's American made and on sale for only $1899 right down the street from Citi Field. https://images.autotrader.com/scaler/500/375/hn/c/4b88c3aaebaf42bead1e58406dc4eb5f.jpg> https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=686732343&city=Corona&isNewSearch=false&listingTypes=USED&marketExtension=include&maxPrice=2000&numRecords=24&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fcars-under-2000%2Fcorona-ny%3FisNewSearch%3Dfalse%26marketExtension%3Dinclude%26numRecords%3D24%26searchRadius%3D10%26showAccelerateBanner%3Dfalse%26sortBy%3Drelevance%26zip%3D11368&searchRadius=10&showAccelerateBanner=false&sortBy=relevance&state=NY&zip=11368&clickType=listinghttps://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=686732343&city=Corona&isNewSearch=false&listingTypes=USED&marketExtension=include&maxPrice=2000&numRecords=24&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fcars-under-2000%2Fcorona-ny%3FisNewSearch%3Dfalse%26marketExtension%3Dinclude%26numRecords%3D24%26searchRadius%3D10%26showAccelerateBanner%3Dfalse%26sortBy%3Drelevance%26zip%3D11368&searchRadius=10&showAccelerateBanner=false&sortBy=relevance&state=NY&zip=11368&clickType=listing
  5. I'd never heard the car thing before. He should get him Joc Pederson's old beater and call it a day.
  6. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Is this the actor from Northern Exposure? This made me think that if twitter were around when the character Joel Fleischman was in Alaska, it wouldn't have been him tweeting this either, it woulda been some other Joel.

  8. [nice story] There is a really wonderful college kid who house sits for us and is a bat boy for the AAA Isotopes. Yesterday, he sent a couple pics to me of him and Met Daniel Murphy, a personally autographed baseball card (in Mets uni) from Murph, and he added that he generously tipped him $50. [/nice story]
  9. I drove by Meteor Crater yesterday and the exit for Meteor City and was imagining Anderson seeing the same exit sign and being "oh fuck yeah i got an idea".
  10. Baseball lost me over this long break. I am now a fanatic of Major League Cricket. I am deciding between the Seattle Orcas and the San Francisco Unicorns as my favorite team.
  11. This was a very aesthetically cool looking movie as you would imagine with Anderson. It was super meta as there were characters and stories within stories. About halfway though I stopped trying to figure it out and just enjoy it - how visually pleasing it was and how cool the music was (and was used). I wasn't sure how I felt about it walking out but I already want to see it again.
  12. Tha't a good one. I was reading another one today that had all their 5 and a half ERAs listed like any of that matters.
  13. Other Mets who threw right and batted left that I just thought of: Wheeler Syndergaard Maybe Kellum should pitch.
  14. At 6:16 PM Eastern on July 11, 2023, we welcomed Kellum Clark to the family when he was selected with the last pick (20th round, 606th overall) by the Mets in this year's draft. He's a healthy, bouncing 22-year old boy, weighing in at a whopping 205 pounds and a rangy 76 inches (6' 4" for the rest of you). He's a Mississippi boy through and through, hailing from Brandon, Mississippi and repping Brandon High School before moving on to Mississippi State. Even his name Kellum sounds especially southern to this westerner's ears. He's an outfielder who throws with his right hand and bats lefty (like Jacob deGrom and probably some other dudes that I can't think of). In 3 years at Miss State, he hit .270/.376/.540 with 30 bombs. At 22, I imagine he'll sign quickly and will be pushed pretty hard to escape the low minors and eventually win an MVP like these other low draft picks. Fun fact: Kellum joins a decently long list of MSU alums drafted by the Mets - Jake Mangum, JT Ginn, Rowdey Jordan, Jett Williams, and this year's #1 pick, Colin Houck, who'd committed to MSU. Wow, fun! Here's Kellum before he swaps that burgundy for some blue and orange:
  15. Adblock plus works like a champ on that site, for me. Might be worth a try.
  16. Seeing this tomorrow night. I am #TeamWesAnderson. Have you seen it?
  17. Mets sign a two-way guy! Nolan McLean throws heat and hits dingers. Decidedly fun pick. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/draft/nolan-mclean-690997https://www.mlb.com/prospects/draft/nolan-mclean-690997
  18. Day 2 of the draft starts NOW!!!! https://www.mlb.com/draft/2023https://www.mlb.com/draft/2023
  19. Sounds like the Mets maybe got lucky and knew what do about it
  20. New boys are both "blessed" to be drafted. The end of this is pretty funny. Houck cracks a smile when talking about his Braves fandom and his newfound loyalty to the Mets. https://www.mlb.com/video/houck-sproat-on-being-drafted?partnerId=web_video-playback-page_video-sharehttps://www.mlb.com/video/houck-sproat-on-being-drafted?partnerId=web_video-playback-page_video-share
  21. MLBTR sez the Mets are DFA'ing Flexen and picked up his salary so they could acquire Gott. okie doke. PS - good thread title. I would've said "Gott Flexen?" and that was basic
  22. I was 5/5 but hit a wall with the Tampa ROY. I knew that the name would come to me if I slept on it though. So I slept and the name came to me! But it was the wrong name (Carl Crawford). And so was the next one (Wander Franco). Screw you, Tampa. Lowest percent of the day: Lance Parrish Tigers/Phils 1% Immaculate Grid 88 7/9: 🟩🟩🟩 🟩⬜️⬜️ 🟩🟩🟩
  23. there's no playoffs this year, right?
  24. https://twitter.com/STR0/status/1674488221567164419 I'm kinda with Keith. The Mets retired the damn number and it hasn't even been a year. Don't want to deal with stuff like this? Don't retire a bunch of numbers.
