  1. I have one too on my dining table. If no one has thrown it out by the time I get home it's your's.

  3. If I can't fire the manager, then I would come out and offer my full support and tell everyone that he's going to be here at least until the end of the season. Then maybe everyone can fucking relax.
  4. As I mentioned when Tim and Ralph were paired up briefly last year during a Fox telecast, those two had such incredible chemistry. It seems that by having to defer to Kiner and his incredible baseball life, McCarver was forced to reign it in a little bit. His know-it-all style is a little grating at times, but I don't mind him. That TBS team during last year's playoffs had me pining for McCarver-Buck. Plus I learned a hell of a lot about baseball listening to him on WOR.
  5. I wonder why people who get chills playing at Yankee Stadium because Babe Ruth played there don't get the same chills at Fenway. Whatever. I'm sure they'll find some way to spin it. "It is an honor to play baseball on the same ground that greats like Ruth, DiMaggio and Gehrig might walked across on their way to the stadium..."
  6. Yancy, When you have that conversation with Randolf, tell him that his players should avoid making errors, pitch better in key spots and hit more consistently. I mean, if we could just get that message to them I think we'd be ok. Oh, and ask him when he's going to return my Dazed and Confused DVD. He's had that like forever.
  7. I was on the Bronx this morning. I can't help but notice that the new stadium they are building is essentially the exact same stadium. You know you don't need a new stadium when they ask you how to build it and you tell them to duplicate one you already have.
  8. I nearly forgot about El Duque. Where is he? Is he coming back ever?
  9. ="Willets Point"]="batmagadanleadoff"]="Benjamin Grimm"]Don't rule out the possibility of the Mets getting four months of service from Pedro this year. There's still a chance that he'll be the difference between paying in October and not playing in October. He's been injured so often as a Met, that I wonder if people are forgetting how brilliant he pitched --even as a Met-- when he was healthy. Stupid people are, which sadly encompasses too many Mets fans. When did Willets turn into Yoda?
  10. Oh, and when they have his day, make sure it's a beautiful afternoon game on a Saturday or Sunday. Don't use it as a way to sell tickets to a Wednesday night game against the Pirates.
  11. It's certainly clear that Piazza thinks of himself as a Met. If it were up to me, he'd go in as a Met and his number would be retired.
  12. I'd rather win this one. I really really really don't want to lose to Tom Glavine.
  13. The strike zone in Gamecast suggests that Glavine is getting the call off the corner again.
  14. Wasn't Maine under Glavine's tutelage while he was here? Maybe he taught him to suck against the Braves.
  15. I think the only thing that could make this worse is if John Smoltz were sitting on our Disabled List right now.
  16. I don't see why you would be so indifferent to a managerial change. If you think he lacks game management skills, such can have an effect on the outcome of a season. I agree that it may not be a 15 game swing, but after falling 1 game short last year, isn't it important to take every advantage you can? I realize that making the post-season is like gambling, where the odds are against you. I just wish we didn't have a manager who insisted on doubling down on hard 12's.
  17. Richard Hidalgo Derek Bell
  18. George Foster Robin Ventura
  19. I hate President Bush because he's black.
  20. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't hate Willie because he's black. I hate Willie because I think he's dumb and doing a bad job.
  21. When as the menu changed from crow to shit? Is there any crow left? I'll take that if I can.
  22. Bronze. Awesome.
  23. MFS62 wrote: ="batmagadanleadoff"]="AG/DC"]Many of the studies I've seen concluding that bunting is a bad strategy have failed to factor in staying-out-of-the-double-play. Maybe McCovey and Stargell and Piazza should have sac bunted more often. Mantle often bunted for base hits. Later Bunting for basehits is a completely different story. There is a difference between bunting with the intention to get on base, and bunting with the intention of making an out.
  24. The best part about this game is that we have an extra day to savor it before kicking douchebag's ass on Tuesday.
  25. Best IGT of the year.
