  1. Fucking Granderson. He should have had that. Didn't even need to dive.
  2. Niese sucks. But it is tough to win with this lineup. I can't believe our top of the lineup is Granderson and Tejada.
  3. I think we should put two or three hot Latvian strippers in every OF. Let them run around and try to distract the outfielders. Increased attendance!
  4. Sandy's best moves have been smart trades of the gems Minaya left for him (Beltran and Dickey). His drafting has been ok, but for having been here 5 years, you'd have hoped at least one draftee would be a difference maker. Matz has the potential to be the gem here, but the others have been disappointing. His free agent signings have been a complete bust. Frank Francisco, Sean Marcum, Granderson, Cuddyer, Chris Young. Even the Wright extension may end up hurting us in the long run. The only exceptions here are Bartolo and Marlon Byrd. The rest of the "resurgence" has been Minaya prospects coming into their own. Harvey, deGrom, Familia, Murphy, Duda, Flores, Lagares, Gee and Niese are all Minaya leftovers. This is without mentioning fucking up the Reyes situation. I don't think Sandy is the reason we suck, but he hasn't been the savior some make him out to be.

His track record with free agents is inconsistent to poor. The majority of his good trades involve trading prime assets left to him by the Minaya administration. And the Mets "resurgence" has much more to do with Minaya prospects coming into their own than anything done by Alderson. To that end, his best trait may be avoiding dumb trades. Which I guess is something.
  6. I didn't think the article was terrible. Well, at least, not any more terrible than a lot of the garbage that is printed in other places. Wright's situation is uncertain. It sucks. Bad luck for the Mets. Bla bla bla. But then again, I agree that the Wilpons suck, so maybe I'm biased.
  7. Granderson sucks again. His recent slump has sunk his OPS down below .700 (.693). That ranks him 20th of the 24 RF'ers who qualify.
  8. Bad night all around. I blame Terry's stupid hit and run with the pitcher up. Once you do something that dumb the baseball gods piss on you. Noah needs to learn to pitch inside and this team needs to learn to hit.
  9. I think the thing that pisses me off the most are those meatball curveballs thrown with 2 strikes. 98 MPH fastball. Establish inside and use it. Just infuriating.
  10. How many opposite field hits will he give up before he throws inside? Challenge the hitters Noah. I've seen about enough of Plawecki. Sucks at the plate, sucks at calling a game. Slow out of the box to field that bunt in the second inning.

Which is hardly anything to write home about. It certainly seems like they have been worse. But it's June 2, and they are tied for first. Syndegaard on the mound tonight against a guy with a 7+ ERA. Things could be worse. And I hope to see Mr. Bump in September as well.
  12. He can still get a CG shutout. 5 pitch innings help that.
  13. I AM VERY EXCITED FOR NO REASON IN PARTICULAR.

  15. WE ARE GOING TO GO 44-0 IN JUNE.
  16. He didn't seem douchy at all. Of course, Jon Stewart did most of the talking, maybe knowing that if he let him ramble on, the douchiness would ooze out.
  17. Wow, I didn't realize Alfonzo was that young when he retired. What a short career.
  18. Chipper Jones Twitter Fight! http://www.foxsports.com/buzzer/story/chipper-jones-twitter-spurned-fan-autograph-052815?adbsc=social_20150528_46605666&adbid=774059266041129&adbpl=fb&adbpr=611296005650790 Who does he think he is? Noah Syndegaard?
  19. By the way, you missed a great opportunity for a thread title: METS HAVE INTEREST IN A-ROD FOR SHORTSTOP
  20. Speaking of Rey-O II, is that a 48 year old Edgardo Alfonzo playing next to him at second?
  21. Well did he see him? What did Dr. Watkins say? Are the exercises working? Come on beat reporters!!
  22. The bad news is, we are no longer playing the Phillies.
  23. Did Terry not bunt Syndegaard?
  24. WE SHOULD PLAY THE PHILLIES EVERY DAY.
  25. My greatest memory of Nieuwenhuis happened right on this forum. Around the time Rick Ankiel got cut (and Kirk called up to replace him) LWFS posted a fake Sandy reaction something along the lines of: "I'm sick of all these strikeouts and flailing at pitches in the dirt. Get me....Nieuwenhuis!" So that is what I will remember from our time together. Kirk Nieuwenhuis. A little better than Rick Ankiel.
