  1. I have a feeling Parnell will be the 2015 version of Heath Bell. Shipped out of NYC and finds himself somewhere else.
  2. There's trouble on the Golden Gate Bridge...in a movie...again.

  4. Wright will wind up with 17ish.
  5. Little Solo, who has taken to listening to the games on radio as he goes to sleep, asked me the other night: "who are these guys? Why can't Gary and Keith do the radio too?"
  6. The Solos are braving the potentially bad weather for tonights game. Why am I putting my family through that?
  7. Why the fuck can we never beat the Marlins?
  8. Chubby cheeked Indian chick loves Mr. Met.
  9. Gotta PH when Nickeas comes up right?
  10. Cangelosi is a good one. Listed at 5'8", I would surmise he was at most 5'6".
  11. I thought his ineffectiveness had to do with that awful follow through on his first pitch. I thought for sure he was hurt.
  12. We've had way, way, way too many baserunners the last two days to not have scored any runs.
  13. seatbelt now fastened.
  14. The two defensive plays in Houston: the extra-inning catch on the hill; and the running into the wall play in 06. That one hampered him down the stretch. His 2006 is probably the best offensive season in Met history...his numbers would have been even more through the roof if he was 100% that final month.

Nobody had a better angle than that umpire, and it's not clear as to whether the glove actually touches his leg. I don't think the ump's angle was all that great to be able to make a call on a swipe tag. Seemed pretty clear to me that the catcher made contact as he was sweeping the glove across.
  16. Has anyone checked on batmags?
  17. Middle 8th at 1:51 PM? You know it's 95 and getaway day.
  18. The number of Phillies fans all around me (and all around the stadium for that matter) was pretty nauseating. I know how Baltimore fans now feel whenever the Yanks and Sox come to town.
  19. Bonding on the road with your son, the Mets, and topless models. Sounds like an awesome time.

  21. I'm much more enthused about this team than I ever imagined I would be, especially considering the injuries. I've really been looking forward to tuning in each night. Now, a lot of that had to do with Jose's torrid pace, but I'm happy. Yeah, things could always be better, and we'd be in a lot better shape if we were in, oh, the NL Central, but they've given me a lot more positive than negative.
  22. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I thought that maybe Davey Johnson had a chance to get on that list now that he's managing the Nationals, but no. He only had 90-win seasons with two teams, the Mets and the Orioles (with 98 wins in 1997). His high with the Dodgers was 86 (in 2000) and with the Reds it was 95 (in 1995). Have a look at that Reds lineup* and rotation (staff ace: Pete Schourek!) and ask yourself how the hell he got that team to go 85-59. *big years from Gant and Reggie Sanders notwithstanding.
  23. Is that the largest point gap between #s 1 and 2 that you've had?
  24. This is one of those 4 1/3 IP, 110 pitch outings for Pelf isn't it?
