  3. Ducks rap and breakdance like white guys.
  4. why can't baseball just say it is because of a contractual obligation to New Era? If it is true, say it! Saying nothing makes them look worse, imo.
  5. But wasn't Wright wearing one in the dugout? I thought I read that in the IGT. Then Dickey's tweet would be inaccurate?
  6. I just wonder how big of a fine they'd be facing that no one wanted to step up and say, fine be damned, I'm doing the right thing. I believe it is in the MLB rules that you can donate any fines to charity...someone might be able to correct me on that. So where the hats, accept the fine, donate it to Tuesday's Children. And the Mets would have looked great, both on the field and in perception. Instead they look feeble, which for this organization is all too common.
  7. Meanwhile city agency caps are all over the sidelines of the Jet game.
  8. Isn't this place the site for Eric Cammack's only career AB and hit, a triple?
  9. Untrue Yankee Carl Pavano.
  10. Brian Schneider Livan Hernandez
  11. Interesting about the media in all this...when LaRussa pretty much redefined bullpen usage back in the late 80s or so, the media howled about how he was changing the game, making it too long, etc. Basically that it was bad for the game. But now, those same media guys are the ones who insist on assigning bullpen roles, and if a team even dares to go out of the box (as the Red Sox did), they get eviscerated. ("why use Acosta there...Parnell is your CLOSER!?" Incidentally, I'm getting Heath Bell vibes from Parnell. He'll be a lights out closer in four years for somebody else.

Though it's possible that before trial, the Court might dismiss Picard's claims for damages over and above the fictitious profits Sterling received, that hasn't happened yet and the presiding District Court hasn't telegraphed it's pending decision one way or the other. It's also possible that the Mets cut ties with Einhorn from a newly found position of strength, as some believe, but I don't believe that just because the Mets say so, or imply so. If you'll remember, over the past four, five six weeks, both the Mets and Bud Selig were reporting that the closing of the Einhorn deal was a simple formality and that the delays in completing that now ill-fated deal were neither material nor unusual. We now know otherwise. For all I know, the Mets might have moved on because Einhorn was insisting on terms that would increase his likelihood of one day, acquiring majority control of the franchise. Perhaps the Mets want less demanding investors. My attitude with respect to this matter is not to believe any comments coming from The House of Wilpon that are supposed to be favorable to the Mets, until proven. I go along with all this.
  13. The Solos might go tonight. We have four rain check tickets and this is about the only day to use them before school starts in earnest.
  14. A John Ricco sighting!
  15. Jerry Reuss looks like what would happen if you combined Lucas Duda and the Geico "bro-stache" guy.
  16. Partying with Casey Anthony in that middle picture?
  17. Not surprising they didnt mention who gave up #600: Daniel Schlereth, son of their oft-guest, and sometimes fill-in host, Mark Schlereth. and if I'm not mistaken, this is the second historic HR given up this year by Schlereth. Wasn't he the guy who gave up the first Met grand slam in almost 2 years?
  18. Newman once responded to me within an hour by phone after I emailed the team through Mets.com about how shitty I thought their Shea Stadium Countdown was. I wouldn't be shocked if you got a response.

Give me bland. There's something comforting in knowing I can flip to a game and immediately know which two teams are playing.

I have a hard time giving Duda grief here. He fielded it cleanly and made a good throw. Nothing Duda did caused Parnell to miss the bag.

  23. Dr. Burkhart on SNY's Sports Nightly (or whatever they call they're SportsCenter ripoff) said he can't see how Reyes won't miss at least as long as he was out the last time.
  24. Nice pics. Why is the Cyclones primary road color red?
