    Solo

I thought it was fun. I can't really explain the lack of interest. I refuse to accept that enough people hated The Lat Jedi (which I thought was comfortably the third best of the ten) to create this big of a backlash. It might simply be that only people who grew up with the original trilogy cared about a Han Solo origin story, and that people who grew up with the prequels care more about the MCU.
  2. It's actually one L at the end, not two.
  3. I had all of 14 at bats in 2016, and less than 200 last year. At 26, I was completely off the radar. So how am I doing in 2018? In 214 ABs at Bingo, I had 16 doubles, 14 HRs, a 22/23 BB/K ratio, and a .327/.402/.626 line. Now I'm in Vegas, but I bet my stay there is short. Second base will be open soon in Queens, and that's my spot. Yes I'm old for a prospect, but Mets fans need someone too root for and I'm your guy.

  5. I didn't save during the draft, and I'm finding ways to throw money around. The more you cut during the season, the less you need to cut during the offseason. But while my pitching has responded to my moves, my lineup hasn't; I had a complete game one-hitter last night and still lost three points.
  6. I had to do some serious tweaking of my pitching staff (and made myself broke in the process), but I like where I am right now. I just hope I don't regret cutting Matt Olson when all is said and done -- it was like he was waiting for word that I dropped him before saying to himself, "OK, you can start hitting now."
  7. He's only had one good start since the first one, but that didn't stop him from getting the emergency call-up for tomorrow's start. Welcome to the show!
  8. Conlon smoked in his first start at Vegas yesterday: 6 IP, 1 run, 4 hits, 9/1 K/BB. Unfortunately the pen imploded and the 51s blew the game.
  9. I'm in.

    Keanu

Yes, I thought it was very funny. The multiple George Michael references might seem more sad than funny now, however.
  11. Conlon finished the regular season in the pen. His wrapped up with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP, but since he re-located he pitched 10.1 IP with 7 hits, 3 walks, 12 Ks, and one unearned run. He probably starts next season in the pen in Vegas, but in the meantime the B-Mets have a playoff series with Trenton.
  12. There was a point in the season when I had 8 pitchers on the DL and another one suspended. But until yesterday I had spent the last two weeks in first place. As Joe Walsh once said, I can't complain but sometimes I still do.
  13. Conlon rebounded from two bad starts in dramatic fashion yesterday, posting one hit, one walk, and 9 strikeouts over seven shutout innings against New Hampshire. His current stat line stands at a 3.31 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP, with 35 Ks in 32.2 IP.
  14. Conlon sports a 2.12 ERA, an 0.882 WHIP, and a 16/2 K/BB ratio after 3 games and 17 IP for Bingo. His strikeouts are up, but he uncharacteristically allowed a home run in his first two games. His most recent start (6 shutout innings with 3 hits, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts) was a solid as it gets, though.
  15. Anybody Know who Rougned's Odor is? He took over Initech's "team" and just started a whole bunch of auctions. I'm all for not competing on any of his initial bids.
  16. If we need to switch days, the one day I know for certain is bad for me is the 29th.

I just renewed mine. Glad I saw that here. They didn't send me anything. Well, did you get any of _MY_ emails reminding you? ;-) No, but it should have gotten through to that address. I may have to check my spam filter.

He hits plenty of doubles though (30 in 360 ABs). His upside is a righthanded Daniel Murphy (at least the solid if unspectacular version of Murphy that played for the Mets) with more range. Which, for somebody I didn't know about until this morning, I'd happily take.
  19. He'd been flying under the radar until he posted a solid .335/.374/.485 at Bingo last year. He plays second, short, and third. I'm assuming he's beginning the year at Vegas. Given the Mets infield depth he might have to force his way to a call-up before September, but if he proves last season wasn't a fluke while continuing to flash the leather like he did yesterday, don't assume it couldn't happen.

  21. I want to, but I haven't gotten the chance.
  22. Congratulations to Muddy Chickens for their superb season, and thank you to everybody in the league. Now back to the drawing board...
  23. Conlon's final appearance of 2016 (on September 7) was arguably his weakest (three runs and eight hits in four innings), but the home run he allowed was only the second in his entire stint at St. Lucie. He finishes the year with a combined ERA of 1.79, allowing all of six home runs over 146 innings. All signs are pointing to him starting next season at Binghamton.
  24. I really liked the first season of Enterprise, but thought it nosedived from there. The one thing about the original series that I would add was that there was something about the interaction between Kirk, Spock, and McCoy that few shows of any genre have been able to duplicate.
  25. For all the complaints about ST V, I thought it was better than the first one and a lot better than Nemesis. I still haven't seen the last two reboots (which has a lot more to do with fatherhood than any gripes about the direction of the franchise). The first one was visually cool but kind of dopey script-wise. The Search for Spock and Insurrection are both underrated. First Contact is overrated -- once you ask why the Borg can't just keep sending probes back in time until one succeeds, the plot crumbles. And any real list would have to put Galaxy Quest near the top.
