  1. In the end Cheif Brody fucked up preferring Stroman to Wheeler, and inadvertently put the club in a spot where they had to rely too heavily on Matz and even getting an out of the blue performance from a rookie starter, will wind up needing to hit the open market they tried to outsmart for 2 or even 3 starting pitchers while seeing a good offense and another great season by deGrom, most days, go to waste again. Acted like a contender 2 years straight and missed twice I guess that's not really a good thing.
  2. Oh wow. He was a TWiB-era laugh-reel highlight superstar
  3. I've alredy googled that. In related news October is National Sausage Month. I've done a few google video calls one-on-one, all works for me
  4. I'm OK with the A's, Indians, Jays or Chisox; don't mind the Rays or Twins that much. In summary, it's important the MFYs and Astros get swept
  5. I'm just happy Philly missed out too. Could give a shit about the rest
  6. It's Travis dArnaud
  7. I totally missed that. When was that?
  8. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=47419 time=1601033806 user_id=68] When did Diaz switch uniform numbers to 21? And what's Frazier's new number gonna be?
  9. It's not even a contest, the first C is the far superior one -- but perhaps in Choo-Choo Coleman's case, using them in the proper sequence is the right call. Just one C, go with the Cola over Coke, I say Love the Ramos error card
  10. It is Freddy Freeman, unless he loaned dArnaud his batting gloves and a Halloween costume. If I owned that card would be a rare misprint with big value on the collector's market
  11. Nats down to last strike.... Again Bookz
  12. Chasen and Chirinos cards look best because of the capital C's. This is such a subtlely designed collection as compared to 2019 Batman cards I almost think Typewriter Chewing Gum Co. had some kind of massive shakeup in creative. Signed, Joe Fonebone PS: That darnaud card looks like Freddie Freeman though maybe with darnaud's body
  13. Rosie can redeem his whole season here if he wants
  14. If you have not listened in to the radio call, see if you can't guess the answer to today's Baker-Tilley Trivia Question: who is the only player to have appeared as such for the Mets, Expos and Washington Senators?
  15. Jesus H. Chririnos! An opposite field home run!!
  16. Lots of baseball history in Binghamton I never knew about till exploring the 19th century. They had successful minor league clubs there going back to the 1870s known as the "Bingos" or the "Triplets" (not sure what that club nickname referred to). Hometown of screwballing lefty Dennis Casey, 1886 NL ERA champion who bullshitted his way into being recognized as the "subject" of Casey at the Bat, even though that was never true.
  17. deGrom's not gonna win another close race with this club behind him. I know some of you like this race but I hate following the individual awards because you gotta hope the other guys screw up
  18. Seriously the story of how rottenly the brass turned on Alderson is sort of lost in the annals of Wilponian treachery, but if you recall they answered his appointment of Mickey with the announcement that Sandy suddenly was surrounded by Fred-friendly veteran fuckups like Omar and further punting away any momentum by giving him nothing to work with but re-engaging guys he'd already let go like Bruce then couching Sandy's "firing" in a health story as if though they were doing him a favor. Callaway made lots of mistakes but was basically left on his own out there, only to be replaced by another Omar/Brodie "big splash" that failed in Beltran, the Cano deal and now we're going to miss the playoffs in the easiest season ever to make the playoffs behind a bunch of Alderson gets having great years but no leadership. This could be a 20-game swing with the same cast next year.
  19. Imagine us at Citi next year, shoulder to shoulder, joyously cheering President Biden's first pitch to JT Realmuto. This has replaced 48 internet porn videos as "the sexiest thing I saw on the Internet this week." Show us 49 and 50 please
  20. So my theory was probably later than that but here's a good thread with lots of ejaculation: http://archives.thecranepool.net/14900/f1_t14982.shtmlhttp://archives.thecranepool.net/14900/f1_t14982.shtml
  21. Hmmm. Interesting. 10 years ago next month
  22. We've been over this a million times since Sandy first arrived but he was never a Fred-Jeff guy, except in the sense that Fred and Jeff do what the commish tells them to when they owe him $25 million. That's how he got here. We can probably find the thread where he arrived first and find that speculation
