Gary's pun? Boooooo. For those without SNY, he said "it's the third of September, a day that Pedro will always remember."

Which will be mis-interpreted by Met fans to mean that he would be a Met if not for the Pedro signing even though it was not a Met pick but rather a supplemental pick. The frequency that this mistake gets repeated will vary with the future success of Buchholz's career. I've never heard of that sort of situation happening before. I think you're waaay too cynical here.

Google maps sez it's 638 miles, 10:30. That means it can be done in 9, no problem. I seriously considered the drive myself...

Scott Schoeneweis in August: 13G; 10.2 IP; 3.38 ERA; 13 H, 1 BB, 6 K. The outing against the Phillies on 8/27 was bad, no doubt. He was good-to-very good the rest of the month otherwise.

Wow. One of the best victories this season. Just great.

Worst example I think was the walk to L. Jones in the 4th. Also worth noting that the second base umpire was out of position and blew the call on LoDuca at 2nd base.

They do have the option of skipping El Duque a second time with the upcoming off day on Thursday 9/6. Plus the September call-ups.

Nice scorless inning. I believe there is redemption potential for Schoeneweis. Seriously.

I would like to have Anderson Hernandez around for pinch running but I'm fairly certain he's the only NO player who can play shortstop.
