  1. Thanks TM! (Freakin' cable went out).
  2. Nope, that gets listed as "on-field delay" and came up too. Sez there was 1 ball and 2 strikes on Glavine when it happened.
  3. Gameday sez "Injury Delay." Can anyone help with some enlightenment while I hold for Time Warner cable customer service?
  4. Sandy Alomar throwing to first after a strikeout. I know a few catchers do, but I can't recall a Met catcher ever who did.
  5. It was Kevin James (also in that movie). James is actually a legitimate Mets fan. Of course, he seemed incapable of understanding the proper cadence of a "Let's Go Mets" chant. Sandler is actually a big fan of the other NY team. Such that he turned down the Jimmy Fallon role in Fever Pitch when it was originally offered to him.
  6. If Omar isn't thinking about it, then he's not doing his job right.
  7. Lots of groaning Delgado's way. Even a tiny bit towards Beltran. He's hot, but when we had bases loaded, 1 out he didn't get anyone in.
  8. Elster88 wrote: What the f to do when Chavez comes back? He's the odd man out to me. Unless you want to come at me and try and say he's better than Greenie. This is really only a dilemma for the next 9 days. The safest thing to do would probably not activate Chavez until September 1 (doing so does not affect his availability for the postseason roster). The other option is to send Anderson down, exposing him to waivers.
  9. Edgy DC wrote: "Heeey! Look who didn't pop up! C'mere, let me give ya a hug!" Didn't see her until she got to first. And neither did security. Dragged her off quickly. What a moron. Thought the usual media policy was to ignore this stuff as to discourage it by not showing the perp(s) when they go on the field. SNY showed a quick camera shot of the person being dragged off but no commentary on it from Gary or Ron.
  10. Oops. Somehow I read it as the eighth. Whoops. Met content = split-second appearance by Doc, on tv, pitching at Shea.
  11. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Not for nothing but tonight was my third walkoff Met victory in person and improved me to 5-0 on the year. Let me know next time you're going. 16-20 this year, including an baffingly bad 12-17 at Shea.
  12. Beltran 5 Castillo 1.67 Anderson 1.67 Milledge 1.66
  13. We win in walk-off fashion, but the Phils also win. 34
  14. O Hernandez 3.5 Beltran 3 Green 1.75 Anderson 1.75
  15. I wonder if my vote this time changed from last time...I sure hope not. Beltran 2 Castillo 2 Reyes 2 Wright 1 Green 1
  16. It's gotta be, right? No matter what the situation, getting an out increases win probability. (Except maybe a game-winning sac fly)
  17. Edgy DC wrote: Who got Bruce Springsteen in the bottom of the ninth? Nettles! But it was the 9th...and do you know the Met-content? P.S. Props to Mets Guy in Michigan for the correct answer.
  18. Who is the San Diego Padres' all-time leader in Home Runs?
  19. Suck It, Hoffman. Disagreed with Randolph's strategy in the 9th but it sure worked out ok. I would hit for DiFelice. Wouldn't have bunted. Would've had Anderson hit away there. Then would've used Green to hit in the pitcher's spot. ]I wonder if JD is starting to warm to Castillo. We talked about it a little in the middle innings. He's really come up big in several spots now. I really like the effort I see from him; how much fun he has; that he and Reyes have taken a shine to each other; etc. (A Boy Named Seo was a no-show. Hope the weather didn't keep him away). Fun game, but I still worry about our 'pen. Pedro, come back soon!

    Met songs

Those guys have appeared on SNY more than one time. They also had songs about Joe Smith and Endy Chavez, I believe.
  21. I'd be happy to have a beer with ya too. Mezz Reserved, Section 12, Row E, Seat 4 (my regular Tue/Fri) seat.
  22. Bring it full circle: Rico was featured this past week on Mets Weekly. He's an East Coast scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks, covering AA, AAA and the Majors.
  23. Edgy DC wrote: Is Ben Johnson done for the year? Yes, ankle fracture.
  24. 36 Our 4.5 game lead is the largest lead by a first place team in the Majors (tied with ARZ's lead of 4.5 over SD).
