  1. Hey, Mets, want to win? Howsabout a 2-out rally here with the middle of the order coming up? Hmm, guess not.
  2. Unbelievable.
  3. I don't like this Willie Mo-Sosa matchup.
  4. Glad to see there's a team out there than can play even sloppier than we can.
  5. He got Zimmerman on a cutter on the outside corner, which looked pretty good. Lawrence looked on in the first but it helps that Washington is just not a good team.

  7. 4 batters, 3 Runs scored.
  8. ="Yancy Street Gang"]I'm filled with dread. Aw, come on. They're playing the Nationals and Marlins. They're going to go 6-1 over this week and we'll be in a position to clinch by Tuesday of next week...maybe Wednesday.
  9. I thought I read once that these things are sometimes handed out to players whose trade value they are trying to increase.

  11. Martinez 3.25 Castillo 1.25 Beltran 1 Reyes 1 LoDuca 1
  12. Beltran 3 Alou 1 Schoeneweis .5 Wright .5

I, for one, am going to keep giving him at least a bite of my Schaefer pie as long as he keeps it alive. 1 for 4 doesn't and shouldn't get you Schaefer. Only 6 of those 17 games were multi-hit.
  14. Those are your seats? Dammmmn.
  15. Green 2.5 Maine 2 Reyes 1 Beltran 1 Sosa 1 Wagner 1 Anderson 1 Milledge .5
  16. Glavine 2.5 Wright 2 Castillo 1 Alou 1 Wagner 1 Feliciano .5
  17. For some inexplicable reason we turned the game on when we got home from Shea. Terrible.
  18. I realize that I cannot realistically tell if the Mets were being squeezed by the ump from my spot in the mezzanine but I know that he had no right to be following batters back to the dugout. His conduct contributed at least 50% to the Reyes and LoDuca confrontations. Willie gave the ump a good talking to between the innings after Reyes' called strike 3 but it clearly wasn't enough. I hate Willie's strategy...or I should say lack thereof. I know he doesn't like the squeeze but with Castillo (arguably our best bunter) up at the plate and Gomez (our fastest runner) at third, the situation absolutely called for the squeeze. I also would've at least sent Reyes on the first pitch as well -- they wouldn't have thrown through with Gomez at third. I was very surprised that Wagner didn't go out for a second inning. He had thrown 11 pitches, only 2 of which were strikes. He got Burrell-Howard-Rowand and would've had Werth-Ruiz-Nunez in the 10th. Don't understand how he wasn't good for a second inning. Also would've PHed for Conine in the 9th (especially if Green was going to come into the game anyway) and would've thought about using Anderson for Milledge in the 10th.
  19. That's the name I was thinking of. Couldn't place it.
  20. Spotted this on craiglist. http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/tix/422272020.html. Any idea who this is? I know the Mets have never had a catcher named "Rob" "Bob" or "Robert" and never had a #73...
  21. ="Edgy DC"]I guess I meant first? 's ok. You didn't have William "Wild Bill" Hennessey as your high school history teacher. Dickshot, I think he might've been around when you were there as well...

  23. Johnny Dickshot wrote: During Kelly Johnson's AB, he pop-fouled one into the front row behind third base, but several fans, including a fat scumbag in an orange hat felt it was their play and got in the way. Johnson later had a 2-run single and scored. I seriously considered leaving my seat, bribing the usher whatever the going rate is these days (used to be $5) to get on the field level and sit within earshot of the guy so I could berate him until he left the game for being a the biggest horse's ass I've seen at a game in a long time. I think I can understand Bartman a lot better. He didn't deserve the grief he got but he was still a moron. Oh yeah, I should add that I'm pretty cranky, because losing 13-5, even to pathetic third place teams pisses me off.
  24. I believe Veterans Stadium closed with a Bon Jovi concert.
  25. I predict they will play. Looking at the radar, those thunderstorms that are a possibility for tonight seem less likely.
