=Centerfield post_id=56782 time=1614117139 user_id=65]I'm blocked by Stroman, which is odd because I've been very positive about him, and I avoid anything Bauer posts.
This is good news. He pitched well last year, and 2020 emphasized how important rotation depth is. I'm assuming it's a one-year contract, but maybe not?

I'm going to officially nominate Yoenis Cespedes for 2015, and Centerfield can determine (in consultation with the home office in Stockholm, of course) whether or not he's eligible.
From November 2018: https://sny.tv/articles/noah-syndergaard-trade-talks-update-padres-say-no-to-mets-on-fernando-tatis-jrNoah Syndergaard trade talks update: Padres say no to Mets on Fernando Tatis Jr. Andy Martino wrote: The Mets and Padres have been talking for weeks about a Noah Syndergaard trade, and now we have our first specific tidbit: San Diego has told the Mets that top infield prospect Fernando Tatis Jr. is untouchable, according to major league sources. And here's where we talk about it: http://archives.thecranepool.net/27500/f1_t27536.shtmlLet's huddle here and talk... Syndergaard
For the record, I want the Mets to sign Conforto and Lindor now, and hold off on Syndergaard. See how he pitches. If he does well, and he's open to negotiating before free agency, then talk to him. If not, let him test the market.
For me, Opening Day is what I look forward to. Pitchers-and-catchers is a milestone along the way, but Opening Day is where it's at. (43 days from now, according to Alexa. Unless, that is, COVID has other plans.)

Different kind of harassment, but I'm reminded of Jeff Wilpon and Leigh Castergine. It's not at all hard to imagine Jeff taking these kinds of complaints lightly.
I remember, regarding Springer and Bauer, there was one that Steve preferred and one that Sandy preferred. (Forget which was which.) Apparently they compromised by getting neither of them.
The only time the Mets ever moved a "home game" was for one game of the two played in Tokyo in 2000. Every other alternative site (Monterrey, San Juan, Willamsport) they were the road team. Until, of course, the nutty 2020 season came along.
I would think it would have to be the first and only walkoff win on the road; before 2020 the Mets never would have batted in the bottom of the inning in a road game. I remember when the Mets got Jared Hughes, I thought, oooh, I hope he helps. But I recall nothing after that. Because of the pandemic I watched the 2020 Mets more intently than usual, but it still wasn't enough for me to remember the contributions of journeymen players.
