    It's now a 51-game sprint. Anything can happen. I'm not expecting October baseball this year, but I would love to be pleasantly surprised. It's definitely something that could happen.

    I recently noticed that when I take selfies the photos saves as a mirror image. I see that's what happened with you too. It's weird. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to disable that, when I get sufficiently motivated, that is.

    Conforto not making a great case for his upcoming free agency. Would he accept a QO? Would the Mets offer one? EDIT: Yeah, they'd probably offer one so they could get the draft pick. But would they be hoping he doesn't accept?

    I'm always surprised to see that Joe Morgan was a Houston Astro in 1971. That was the first year I was paying attention to baseball, but Joe Morgan must have escaped my notice. My earliest memory of him is as a Cincinnati Red.

    Mets division odds are down to 49.4%, plus 1.9% for the wild card, and 4.4% to win the World Series. Phillies are at 29.9% to win the division, Braves at 20.6%. The remaining 0.1% goes to the Nationals.

    A question about record keeping... I think this game is going to count as if it was played on April 11, not on August 31. That means that this is the sixth game of the season, not the hundredth and something game. So if Pete Alonso hits a home run, this will count in his April stats [statistics] instead of for August? Yennsey Diaz made his Mets debut on May 23. If he appears in this game, does that mean that this becomes his first game as a Met? This may even affect the April Schaefer results! Jacob deGrom's Player and Pitcher of the Month for April are unassailable, but it's possible that the Reliever and Bench awards may need to be changed retroactively.
