  1. Voting for all remaining games that were played before the All-Star break (through July 11) will close on the morning of Tuesday, July 20. If you have any games that you still intend to vote for, please try to do so over the next seven days. http://potg.leaptoad.com/mets/images/warning.gif> http://potg.leaptoad.com/mets/Cast your votes now!

  3. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=71233 time=1626180622 user_id=119] Bears Repeating is brilliant, and I'd say a slam dunk winner for the contest -- except I'm hoping for a selection of World Champs! covers come fall.
  4. He also swept the back pages last time around: http://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/2019/20190709_NSD_02.jpg> http://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/2019/20190709_NYDN_02.jpg> http://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/2019/20190709_NYP_02.jpg>
  5. I can't believe you didn't mention Randy Niemann.
  6. He looks a little like Ron Darling.
  7. dinosaur jesus wrote: And the game itself has always seemed kind of pointless. What exactly are you proving by trotting out sixty players for one at bat or one inning? I've never seen one of the games all the way through, and it's been years since I even tuned in to see my guys show off their Mets uniforms. Which they can't even do anymore. I agree. I haven't watched even a minute of All-Star play since around 1992.

  12. Sure, it would be great to have them, but at what cost? I think I'd rather give up someone off the big-league club than one of the prized prospects, but that might not be enough to get a deal done.
  13. Oh yeah. Definitely accidentally. They tried really hard to be struck by this bullet.
  14. A dodged bullet. https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/213016437_10159520651781392_5192349566484049369_n.png?_nc_cat=106&ccb=1-3&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_ohc=jzO_iXtyftcAX9DkIUG&tn=bJnU5x_xk9x80QdP&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-2.xx&oh=add71fd897e0597ee0b0704915b0a30d&oe=60ED76DA>
  15. I agree. But shaving the number of innings to shorten the game is like cutting off your leg to lose weight. It will work, but it's probably not the best idea. I'd like to see them increase the pace. The pitcher gets the ball, he throws the ball. Enforce the clock. I don't know what the ideal interval between pitches should be. 15 seconds? 20? Whatever, find a number and make it stick. If the pitcher doesn't throw the ball, it's a ball. If the batter isn't in the box, it's a strike. Reducing the milling about between pitches would go a long way.

  23. At first glance I thought there was a female umpire at third base
  24. A sweep of the doubleheader, I meant.
  25. Edgy MD wrote: So often this year, a guy has squared up a ball and Cohen begins to shout like he's given it a ride. Is that more in road games where Gary's not actually in the ballpark? I've said it here and there on this forum, and I'll say it again here. Between Peraza, Villar, and Guillorme, I'm not missing J.D. Davis. If anyone is going to be trade fodder, I would prefer it to be him.
