Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 I am DEEP in the weeds on this! That's Oyster Burns on the cover.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Wow! I am so amazed by the talent on this board. Just amazing.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 This board is filthy with published authors. Congrats!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 When I first saw that top post, I missed the author's name. I was looking at the illustration, marveling at that "Quicksteps" nickname (Quickstep Reyes) but wondering why Edgy posted the book cover in the first place. Now I see. Hah. Great work. Will there be any extraterrestrials in there? Wilmington. It figures.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Why is there a six-month pre-order time period? I don't buy a lot of new booksso if this is now SOP I wasn't aware of it.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 I'm not sure if it is the same in the book industry (and JCL can definitely speak to that better than I), but in the record industry often artists will offer pre-orders to offset some of the production and printing costs that would otherwise have to be either pre-paid by the artist or borrowed on loan at a high percentage from parent companies. The artist gets less money on the back end after the release, but does not necessarily pay up front for some of the production costs. I like the process in the music industry as it allows for more independent artists to release their material without worrying about partnering with big companies to front the production costs. I will happily pre-order anything...especially if I was going to buy it after the release date anyways.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 12, 2017 Author Posted October 12, 2017 When I link to a book, I try to link to it at the publisher's site instead of Amazon, because Amazon is Amazon. But a cursory search could not locate it at the publisher's site.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 So, I think I finished this, or at least a version of it. That's why I've been MIA for the last month.my CAHNfidence isn't super high, so I'm hoping for robust editing session that will allow for lots of tweaks and maybe 2 more chapters.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Can of corn , gets those arms extended for the editing sessions
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Today, exactly 134 years to the day that the Eastern League's 1884 season got underway, the book is out.
