Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 Man, we are going to be awesome in September. 25 games out by then, but awesome.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 It's something like every other day this season.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 I think Dillon Gee had this many years ago and missed the rest of the season. I feel like that was in the second half though, so maybe Familia can come back for August/September.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 WOW, feel awful for him....this is some serious shit
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Is this the sort of thing that can be attributable to being a professional pitcher? Or is it just a thing?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 The tabloid covers I've been collecting recently have been pretty grim. This isn't going to change that.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 The other mystery here is what triggered this diagnosis.Despite the bad outing yesterday, Familia claimed afterward, "I feel great, my arm feels great" and just said that his command was off.Ackert's first article (NYDN) on this claims that the Mets had been "privately worried about" Familia and quotes some unnamed scout saying how "disinterested" and lousy he's looked this year - but much ofthat sounds like nothing more than after-the-fact justification. Prior to yesterday he had given up just 1 hit and no walks in his previous five innings/outings, something which is kind of tough to do when you suck and don't care.Something either was being hidden or just cropped up over night.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I guess that can happen. Sleep funny. Wake up funny.Anyhow, I'm guessing the Smoker we drink will be the player we get. And at least he has a full day to report to the team and sleep. Go Mets.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I'm looking for my old baseball glove.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Yeah, finger numbness is often the warning sign for this sort of thing, so either JF just woke up with it today and realized was more than simply sleeping on his hand or he's had a mild case of itfor a while and decided to fess up now after it grew worse. He's slated to see Harvey T.O.S. guy in St Louis tomorrow.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 Would go a long way to explaining why he struggles when used 3 straight days. I hear it blocks oxygen? So the recuperation is tougher.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Ay caramba. Waiting for the Shea Bridge to collapse next.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Familia will be OK.Save opportunities may dwindle as the year goes on.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Since this seems to happen to the Mets just about every year, might swapping out the training staff be a horrible thing? It's probably not it's fault, but I think we can all agree that something's not working.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Can't we just inject some nanobots into his bloodstream to eat the clot away, or is ownership too cheap to go that route?

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 I've read that all teams except for the Mets have an organizational anti-clot policy in place. Clearly, it's just one more thing in a long list of medical issues with this franchise that needs to be addressed and NOW!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Two words: Adriana Lima.Twenty-two more words: Give The New York Post 48 hours and they'll have gotten to the bottom of her role in all Metly circulatory issues.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Can any of the time that Familia misses be applied against his next suspension?
