Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 For the sake of this poll, let's assume that if the Mets lose, it will be a conventional loss, and not some gut-wrenching heartbreaker.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Who chose "if Mets lose" and why?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I figure on #4, I get all wound and find it hard to wind down after games like this no matter the outcome. Funny thing is I'm particularly sleepy now at 3:00, but I had a very high carb lunch today and sometimes that knocks me out.#lgm #ygb #crcema #atltnra
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I don't sleep well anymore period so.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hilary continues to lead in the polls. And if the Mets win.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 TransMonk wrote:Who chose "if Mets lose" and why?Me. I figured I was in the minority on this and that's what prompted the poll.I learned last year, during the NLDS series with the Dodgers, that when the Mets lost I would sleep better than when they won. After a win, especially after Game 5, I was so jittery with excitement that I couldn't fall asleep. But when they'd lose I'd remind myself that it's not important in the greater scheme of things and I'd let myself think about more mundane stuff.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 No chance of sleep either way.In theory, I am perfectly happy with a Wild Card berth given the injuries etc from this season. And in a few days or weeks I may come around to that. But no way I feel that tonight. And if they win I'm going to be on Cloud 9.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Well if they lose I will have a problem getting to sleep, apparently.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Didn't sleep at all, but that's not really surprising.I'm better than I thought I would be given the loss. I guess part of me knows that even if we won last night, and somehow got past the Cubs, this rotation was eventually going to catch up to us. I'm always sad at the end of the Mets season. It's really the only sport I follow to this extent. I know some of you guys watch that sport with the pads and the funny shaped ball, but for me, it's a complete dead period until Syracuse Basketball kicks off on November 11. Seems a long, long way away.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 Well, for me it's dead until April! It took me a little while to fall asleep, but once I did it was a normal night. I would have had far more trouble sleeping if I was jazzed about an upcoming series against the Cubs.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 got home around 1, bed by 1:30. Carbon Monoxide detector in the basement beeped three times at around 4:30, which supposedly indicates 'error' and then later started flashing 5 times which sorta means 'end of life'. Just as I got back to bed after assuring myself it was just an error and there was no monoxide (other detector on main floor wasn't going off, and I tested it), the smoke alarm battery decided to start dying. Also I think I have a cold and acid in my throat.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Were you with The 7 Line, Ceetar?

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Lol, at the beginning of the game they did a quick crowd shot out there of about a dozen people and I said to myself, "hey, that's Ceetar!"I got about 4 1/2 hours of unsettled sleep last night. Hopefully, I'll make upfor some of it tonight and feel better tomorrow.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 And the day after, I just feel numb.Later
