Mex17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 So they hang a NL Championship banner and a retired number up on the wall in the same year. And the 30th anniversary of '86.And the current team being a legit championship contender. This is going to be a very special season.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Bought tickets immediately on Stubhub before people wake up and realize they can jack up their asking prices. I encourage those interested to do the same.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I got one CBox on the metsdotcom site, they were flying off the shelves. You'dhover over a section and it said 43 seats available and then when you got to the next screen there were zero.More than I would spend on a single ticket but I'm happy and in Row 5 so I'm not in the CBox Cave while sitting.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Excellent!Very strange to have an offseason where all my wishes come true.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Well, that game is like totally sold out.I can go with my wife if one of us sits in 132 and the other sits in 333. "Hi, Honey! Up here! I'm the one who's waving... wearing blue!!"
Mex17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 There is no way that this is not almost totally ticket brokers gobbling up everything using automated software.

These days 'brokers' just means anyone with a computer that knows it'll be a draw.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 It would have been some serious big league trolling if the Mets did this while the Dodgers were in town.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Some wanted September 21 against the Braves. I agree this would have had significant meaning, but I see the drawbacks. His career was not all about that one HR, and on Sept. 21 there may be some pretty intense baseball going on. Kudos to the Wilpons again (becoming a theme around here) for giving Piazza a whole weekend and retiring his number on a Saturday night. If I remember correctly, Gary Carter Night was some bullshit weekday game.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I would have done it on Sunday, the 31st. If I remember correctly, they retired Tom Seaver's number on July 41.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I wasn't actually endorsing the Dodgers angle. Trolling is bad.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 So what are the odds that the Mets trot out the old hideous black uniforms for the game that will played on this date?
