Let's have a virtual drink together.

Poured myself a Glenlivet. Master Distiller's Reserve. My wife got it for me in London. Perfect night to crack it open.

Here's to you guys CPF.

Pour me one. Then we gotta get cracking on figuring out what's the next thing that we oughtta complain about.

Gah! I knew I forgot to stock up on something before the storm. Looks like there's a shot of brandy left.

Not quite so top-shelf, but a damn fine pour of Woodford Reserve, neat. Just like a three-year deal with an opt-out. Neat!

What a swing of emotion for you from about an hour ago.

Crazy.

I made a chocolate/peppermint vodka martini garnished with Hershey's Peppermint Bark Kisses and a candy cane.

It's Christmas in January!

There's BIG WIN OVER ALBANY sort of exhilaration.

And then there's BIG WIN OVER ALBANY followed by AND CESPEDES?!? exhilaration.

Poured myself a Hellgate, by Blind Bat, a semi-local microbrew. It's not great, but it's in a growler that I've gotta get through soon, so what the heck.

This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the signing of Niuman Romero, it will soon see the return of Yoenis Cespedes.

Yea, really. Who needs a drink. I want to recreate that rush I had when I read the good news. At that point us getting him really was more than just the impossible dream. I didn't think I'd say this, but I'm going to enjoy this snowstorm. Cause it'll all be gone by April. And we got Cespedes back.

I think something has to be done with Lagares if we can get a decent piece for him. Unless he gets the primary backup role. I'd prefer they keep him and get rid of that Azawhatever guy. But in a sense that is wasting Lagares. He still could be an everyday centerfielder....somewhere.

I'm OK right now with keeping all the soldiers if that's budgetable. Lagares finished the season well as platoon outfielder/defensive replacement with Cespedes swinging between left and center, and I think that's a perfectly workable way to continue and open the season with. Injuries may likely press somebody into more duty at some point anyhow.

Plus 15 games with the DH.

Also worth celebrating: they closed their deals with Duda and Mejia.

The tears of Nationals fans.

They have had two bad days (the signing away of Cespedes and the snow storm) rolled into one.
Tears are a tad too salty for me.
Maybe I'll crack open the Moldovan wheat vodka I wanted to try. (Yes, that was NOT a misprint. It was at my local Stew Leonard's wine shop.)

Of course, we should all be drinking Cuba Libres today.

And I actually have some Cuban rum to go with mine!

Did Fredo or Johnny Ola tell you about them?
Anyhow, enjoy!

Started in on a case of Bud cans. First one is to celebrate, next five are
because shoveling snow with a buzz is more fun than when sober.

With 3-year-old Cuban rum, of course!
