This game proves that you don't need to take Viagara to get screwed.

I wasn't a fan of Terry's pitcher management tonight, either.

Me neither, but at least it ultimately didn't matter. But it really could have.

I guess I won't be going to bed giddy tonight. I'll probably actually sleep better than I would have had the Mets won.

Damn! Another strange case of an extraordinary thing happening to the Mets in the postseason.

I'm hoping utley'sconcussion keeps him out of the Dodgers two remaining playoff games.

Not that I wish a concussion on him. Just that, yeah, the dude got hisself a concussion there.

Fuck him, I hope his fucking career ends and he returns home tonight to find his wife copulating with Donald Trump and 3 midgets.

He hit his head pretty good.

I see the contact there with Tejada's leg and Utley, but I have to say I'm amazed he suffered a fracture from that. Remember when he got hurt doing a flip catch near the end of a season and it ended up it was his leg he broke. That's weird. Brittle legs.

I would have thought about having Colon start the clean 7th instead of Thor. Maybe things end up differenty, maybe they don't matter.

I hope it's FOUR midgets!

Watching the post game. Another legendary story for Mets lore. Even when we lose we're amazin'.

Guys in the TBS post game show are incredulous.

I was just wondering didn't they make it illegal to crash into the catcher

Yes because it hurt Fan Favorite Buster Posey. I don;t think Tejada is marketable enough to pass rules to protect him but ts so obvious that play was bullshit.

We got fucked over by every rule in the book tonight (plus Addison Reed).

Over Terry's bullpen management, too.

(Clippard might have been an option THERE.)

Nah his leg was planted when the douchenozzle crashed into him with his legs, I don't think Tejada's particularly fragile.

Not scoring after the 2nd inning didn't help matters either.

Utley ran right past the bag and straight at Tejada. Should have been a double play.

Yup. An lead with the shoulder

There would have been nothing wrong with the slide had it been before the base.
IOW, the slide itself was fine, it was just the timing/placement of it.

Didn't we lose a big game on an interference call against Marlon Anderson that was real similar to this play?

That sounds familiar although I can't remember the details. Someone here (Greg) will.

We were facing the best pitcher in the league! I'm shocked that we got that many.

I'm mad because
a) Even though I understand "hardball" is a real thing and beloved by tough guys like Cal Ripken, and almost --but not -- OK on a weird play like that, the way the umps fucked us over *following* that cowardly shit illustrates everything *else* wrong with baseball

B) Addison Reed.

The slide I can live with. The calling Utley safe was the killer, for me. To me that wasn't even a consideration.
