Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I don't think English or Spanish speakers can understand him right now

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 By the way, that pieface was more than a little violent.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Definitely a Manuel move. Against Pittsburgh, I think.Oh, and speaking of things dating back to '10 or so...@ErikTurgeon wrote:Valdespin with a walk off home run. If you need me I will be in the bathroom throwing up! Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I remember Chuck Tanner doing it against Wally Backman way back when with the winning run on third. It could have been a viable strategy against Wally at any time though.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I know I've posted this before, but...My softball team, maybe 1992. We lose the first in a 2-of-3 playoff. Game 2, extra innings, we're the visitor. Leadoff triple. We walk the next two guys, bring our RF in to stand on top of second base. Next batter hits it to him on one hop. Perfect, right? Not so fast. He steps on second, throws to first - double play. As the winning run scores and our season ends.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 That was the antithesis of a shitty game.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Ex-2008 draftee and B-Met/Cyclone, currently retired. Ex-teammate of 'Spin's, at both levels (and rookie ball). Some more:@ErikTurgeon wrote:If your shocked that, then you don't kno bout all that! Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 There's just too much out there not to believe Valdy is a real dick. It looked like Buck was punching him in the face.Turgeon doesn't seem like a great teammate either.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Somebody's clearly punching Jordany in the dick and balls at about :45 seconds into this highlight clip.http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=3304241211) Who's doing the dick punching?2) Is dick punching ever funny unless the guy getting punched is a dick himself? And then is it funny? maybe.EDIT: Mets.com has the reverse angle and it was our own Captain Dick Punch with the fister up the middle.http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?c_id=nym&content_id=26570647&topic_id=28898650

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 When I came home from Shea after seeing my first Mets win in a very long time in 1981, I buzzed around the house all night because, ohmigod, I saw the Mets win. I was 18. It didn't take much.I was the same way last night. It hadn't been long since I'd seen the Mets win at Citi Field -- it had been three days. And it wasn't the first time I'd seen the Mets win on a walkoff hit or home run or even grand slam (I was at the Kevin McReynolds game that was referenced in the aftermath of last night). But boy, something about last night...Jordany; Mattingly's overarranging of the infield; the effort to tie it; Harvey not getting stuck with a loss...I'm still buzzing.Thirty-two years later, baseball makes time incidental.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I think he saw the pie coming and was ducking away when Buck came....and Buck probably can't do anything soft anyway....
