Looks like low temps and snow are predicted for tonight, so odds are this game will not be played tonight.

But I'll throw up this IGT just in case. Maybe I can set a record for most consecutive IGT's for postponed games.

OE:

New York Mets ?@Mets 1m
#Mets snowed out tonight. Split doubleheader tomorrow. Game times: 3:10 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. (EDT)

I guess we'll use this thread for the 3:10 pm game.

Weather aligning to complement our three-deep rotation.

Canceled? Justin Turner was just tweeting about how bad it looked, but didn't see anything official.

Gee in the first game, haven't decided on Laffey or Hefner for the second.

Mets will need a 6th starter now, barring another snowout.

The Rockies are off to an 8-4 start. Not bad for that mess...Lets hope the Mets can keep in going in a town where they have had trouble..

Predicting pitchers duels. You don't score too much with frozen balls.

I believe the 'That's what she said' line here is well enough implied and therefore unnecessary to even type.

I wonder how they plow a baseball field without tearing up the sod?

Currently, three and a half hours before game time, it's 30 degrees and cloudy in Denver.

National Weather Service wrote:

I think they melt it rather than plow or blow it (did she say that too?). Some of the newer stadia have heated tubes under the playing surfaces and the drainage systems are probably state of the art as well.

"Yeah, we decided not to install those here at Coors because we so rarely get snow."

As per Guys! in the pregame, they're still clearing snow from the field, having got much more overnight than they had anticipated, timewise, during their removal planning.

Colorados game with the New York Mets is in a delay despite the efforts by Rockies owner Dick Monfort and general manager Dan ODowd to help shovel the field to squeeze in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

No new start time has been announced yet. The game was scheduled for 1:10 p.m. (MDT), with the nightcap set for 6:40 p.m.

Monfort and ODowd joined the grounds crew members and assisted in removing most of the eight inches of snow from the outfield. Workers still have to clear snow thats piled high in front of the Rockies dugout and down the right-field line.

The temperature at first pitch for the afternoon game will be around 38 degrees, making this one of the top-10 coldest games at Coors Field. The record is 28 degrees on April 12, 1997, against Montreal.

They better make sure they kick all those people out after the game, or the night crowd might not fit.
