Very nice. Probably "inspired" by the fact the O's new cap was the 2nd best selling cap in the league last season. Either that or Jethro has been scouring MBTN for marketing ideas.

One could do worse than the Braves' screaming Indian. We don't know what he's screaming about. He's not nearly the caricature that the Cleveland guy is.

Very surprised by the Braves' decision here though. The tomahawk itself would look fine and we don't need the chop.

I LOVE the Mets hat. Will definitely be buying one.

Orioles still have the best hat. There are some real boring ones that I can't imagine will inspire any sales too, like Cleveland.

All I'm saying is that Atlanta's screaming guy isn't as particularly demeaning as Cleveland's smiling guy.

Just as I think "Fighting Illini" isn't derogatory but a goofy wardancing mascot would be. I think it's important to look at this with some degree of nuance.

I don't think "Braves" is as bad as "Indians" (And "Redskins" is a whole other thing.)

Indians brands an entire ethnic group, as the cartoon suggests. Braves seems like a role within the group.

That said, I wouldn't have resurrected that logo. Seems to invite trouble for no good reason, and, well, it wasn't that good of a logo the first time the team used it.

I love the Mr. Met cap, but I've yet to have a batting practice cap fit well. They are either way too loose, or the elastic gives me a headache. And it seems like they tend to be somewhere in the middle between a unstructured fashion cap and a traditional cap, looking kind of lumpy.

If this was shaped like a traditional game cap, I'd be into it.

They changed it I'm told. Will be more modeled after the 5950 instead of the 3530 or whatever it was called. i.e. the traditional game cap.

The apparent double standard is bullshit. This is not an issue which easily lends itself to partial acceptance or grandfathering; either deny the use of all Native American logos or keep schtum.

While Cleveland has spaced itself (somewhat) from Chief Wahoo, it still retains its use presumably because it is consistently one of the highest-selling caps. But the Braves cannot benefit from a less offensive logo, because....
