Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 The new Marlins unis are leaked before tomorrow's fashion show. This is what Jose could be wearing, essentially another set of major league pajamas.http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2011/11/the_new_marlins_uniforms_may_h.php
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Contrasting orange sherbet belts. Very seventies. I expect that look from Doug DeCinces and the 1978 Orioles.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I've seen cat puke that is better looking.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I like em kinda

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 They're not too bad. I kinda like the orange cap with the yellow brim.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 that orange hat has a yellow dot. the other three all appear to have orange dots. i think i need to see them in real life to get a feel for how i actually feel about them. i can't tell if i like them, or think them to be hideous. at the very least, i like that they're trying so damned hard. i think.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 The multicolored letters might be too much up close but I'm digging the orange/yellow and orange undershirt looks, and I kinda like the blue hat too.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 At first blush they are very Baltimore-ish looking.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Before Miami Vice said, "And her name is Miami, and she and all of Florida by extension shall be represented by teal and other Cuban pastels," orange was the color of Florida. Your typical map of the US from back when would render Florida in orange, I assume because that's where oranges (and grapefruits!) came from. A selective survey says:If Miami wants their uniforms to speak of the industry of the region instead of just the style, I'm OK with that. Maybe it's a sign that we want to represent ourselves as a people defined by what we produce, rather than just by what we consume.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 New York appears to be shit brown in the bottom map.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 They look like the University of Miami Hurricanes.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I love Florida. It's America's cock.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 The "leak" you're seeing is a "concept" by someone on the Chris Creamer Sports Logos forum. Another forum member who had seen the new uniforms said some of the ideas in the real ones were similar, but they won't be exactly like that. We'll know for sure on Friday.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I'm pretty sure they're going to be drenched in orange. Check out their website - it's everywhere.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Here are some leaked images of the orange alt and the jacket. The concept was pretty close!http://www.sportslogos.net/blog/2011/11/11/marlins-alt-uniform-leaks-early/
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I don't mind the orange - in fact it's about time someone went up against the same old blue/red mafia.I just think the M looks stupid, like it was designed by either a 4th grader or by city gov't for the cross-town bus.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I still think they are fugly as hell.
