Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 He balked in the winning run? FUCKING [crossout:u6yokfo9]BENITEZ[/crossout:u6yokfo9] CARRASCO.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 OK Terry, what do you have to say?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 How stupid did the Braves look celebrating the gift win like it was a walk-off homerun. Fuck the Braves.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 You've got to be fucking kidding me. Unfucking believable.
Guest attgig Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 balks are stupid. how does that flinch affect the game in any way?

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 My testicles can't take this shit. Too many kicks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 I blame Duda more than Carrasco; that wasn't within two touchdowns of a smart play.As Gary said, he wasn't Murphy but he pulled a Murphy, and did so even worse than Murphy usually does.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Good point FK. I was thinking that Duda is the best 1Bman the Mets had while Ike is out and then he screws up big time.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 The Mets are less of a team without Wright and Davis at the corners. Some games its' more obvious than others.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I don't believe Terry saw the same game I did.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Primary blame goes to K-Rod. Carrasco should never have been in there.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Primary blame goes to the ****bunter for using K-Rod LAST NIGHT with a 4-run lead in the 9th. Using him 3 days in a row is generally not such a great idea.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Just got home after leaving work with the Mets ahead.Ugh!Anyhow, I hope I outlive Chipper Jones.I'd pay tribute to what I think of him by pouring a pint of Guiness over his grave.Of course, I'd pass it through my system first.Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 The only previous time that the Mets ever lost on a balk:
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 A balk?, that was quite a shock to see blazing across the back of the Daily News.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 You just know someone on ESPN is referring to this as a balk-off win for Atlanta.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Well, I kinda knew we were in trouble when after that first strikeout K-Rod pointed into the Atlanta dugout and squawked, "PAYS THE DOCTORS, BOYYYYYY!!!!!!"
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 the duda murphy wasn't the biggest play of the game, and it certainly wasn't the reason they lost. the homer to brooks conrad was hte single biggest nail in the metly coffin. heading into that at bat, the mets had an 89.9% change of winning hte game. that homer knocked them all the way down to merely a 42.3% chance! as we enter the tenth inning, the mets have a 50% chance of winning. were they to have made it to the eleventh, they would have retained that 50% chance. with two outs in the bottom of the tenth, the mets had a 46.6% chance of winning. diory hernandez hits a double and its down to 39.5%. now, if duda stays at first and allows the ball to get through to tejada, and presuming he throws out schaefer as we all expect to have happened, the inning is over, and we're back at 50%. but no. schaefer makes it to first, and hernandez is on third. the mets are down to a 36.6% chance of winning. the duda murphy increased the braves' chances of winning by about 3%, but the total swing was 13%. the balk, well, that gave the braves the win. so there you have it. duda's murphy, 3% or 13% depending on whether you want to look at comparing it to the expected result. i know a little mechanical guy who'd chatter endlessly about not presuming an expected result. the balk, 36.6%.the homer, 47.6%.but at least frankie didn't get the GF.

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Big picture folks.6-4 road trip. 2 of 3 from both Milwaukee and Atlanta in their parks.Woefully undermanned Mets team that does not give up.
