Well I doubt a evidence of a broken hand presented in defense of a claim of knee tendonitis will help the Mets case very much.
How about an old-fashioned kneecapping?

The guy has been fading pretty consistently.

2005 St. Louis 16-10 3.57 ERA
2006 St. Louis 12-7 4.12 ERA
2007 Milwaukee 12-12 4.62 ERA
2008 Milwaukee 10-10 4.96 ERA
2009 Milwaukee 7-12 5.29 ERA
2010 Milwaukee 0-2 7.84 ERA

You realize that, by creating this catch-all dump thread, you just create more work for your admins who will have to split off topics surgically.

That really wasn't my intention, I was just trying to not fuck with IGT mojo and share some enemy knowledge. We could just change the title to "Oliver's Injury and Screw You Hanley" and then lock it.

Heard about the triple play last night.
Later, SNY was showing a Mets highlight film (so grainy it looked like a kinnescope) of the 1966 (?) season.
In it, the Mets turned a triple play.
It went Bressoud to Hiller to Hickman.
Then I thought , "Hey! Hiller was a terrible fielding second baseman."
Then I thought, "Can Reese Havens be any worse than Hiller?"
And then I thought , "Trask ....... radio".
Then I fell asleep.

Not quite as bad as Jeter's Ford Edge ads, but bad enough: why does the ad agency for Bigelow Tea think that Mets fans will be impressed that Joe Torre drinks their product? (Gary did a live read for Bigelow last night.) Gretzky--OK; Phil Simms--fine. Even Jose Feliciano (not one of the Mets two Feliciano's) drinks it, too. Torre's association with their product only makes me want to know what Lipton is up to.

Anyone notice the David Wright Drives a Lincoln ads that have quietly replaced (for the most part) the Edge assault? They're not very good, but they do involve a Met.

They're not great, but any commercial that has Mets clips in it is always going to be passable.

G-Fafif - remember the time we were driving down to Philly, when out of the blue MK blurted out, "I will never buy a Ford!"?

(Maybe this thread should be remaned "Stuff not important enough to start a separate thread")

There have been a lot of injuries at Buffalo lately. The other day thay had Val Passicci playing the outfield. Getting an experienced outfielder wasn't unexpected.

Soup's Done:

Brewers eat $10M+ by releasing Jeff Suppan.

Good. I swear that guy had the best week of his career in October of 2006.

Nope. He has re-upped with the Cards, and Dave Duncan has been able to do that voodoo that he do so well.
Jeff has pitched two good games since signing there.
Rats!

I was looking at K/9 inn. rates for Mets starting pitchers (Met careers only).

Gooden's Met career rate is 7.78. John Maine's is 7.75. If Maine had two more K's, his K/9 rate would exceed Doc's.

It's a different world, isn't it?

Walter Johnson struck out 5.3/9.
