Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 One of my big time-sucks is quizzes on Sporcle.http://www.sporcle.com/games/minorleague_cities.phpCan you name all the current Triple-A cities?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I got all the Shakespeare plays, I'm resigning as sporcle champion.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Can't believe some of the names in this one!:http://www.sporcle.com/games/deej/pitching2000

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I destroyed that AAA kwiz only I couldn't spell albuqueque correctly.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 Can you name the last 5 managers for each MLB franchise?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2010 Author Posted September 19, 2010 Here's one that made it to the front page the other day:Can you name the New York Mets Opening Day lineups between 1991 and 2010?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Courtesy of AA, the deceptively-trying 2010 roster quiz.A disturbing 34/47. I blame my headache, and my dumb, dumb brain.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I did OK with 42. Somehow I forgot Nieve was a Met despite his 200 appearances in April alone. And I kept guessing Manny Aybar when I mean Manny Whathisname.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Damn you Frank Catalanatto and your brief, forgettable tenure.

Guest attgig Guests Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 i sucked on that AAA quiz. I just started listing out mid-size cities that have teams in other sports but not in baseball. that helped a lot..but still missed a bunch.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 16 AAAs - not so great, but I did get Reno, which only 21% guessed right. And this is kinda horrible to admit, but I did fill in all the blanks to Jingle Bell Rock.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 I highly recommend this one.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I knew all the AAA cities but didn't get full credit because I couldn't figure out how to spell Albuquerque (I swear I did it right at least once but it didn't accept it). The quiz also didn't accept 'Gwinnet County' for the Braves although if you typed in their former home of Richmond it instantly converted to their new name.Like most peeps I'm sure, got all the short names in the HR race but missed the three long ones. Again spelling nabbed robbed me of one answer.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I knew the 11-letter answer, but it took me so many spellings to get it right that I couldn't even take a crack at some others.

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I got the 9-letter one, missed the 10 and 11.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Another good one, how many of the 100 instances of 200 hit seasons between 1989 and 2010 can you name? I got 78.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Double ugh 53 !!I quit with like two minutes still left because I got bored with random guesses which was about all I was left with.Somehow I managed to not guess Vlad Guerrero which alone would have pushed me up into the sixties.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 With a clock ticking down and the pressure on, too many guys outside of my division become "you know, that white outfield guy on the Angels." I'm sure fantasists do better on such quizzes than I do.(Speaking of that guy, how does he get 240 hits one year and never before or since get more than 166?)

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 80 for me. Spent too much time on the 91 Rangers (3 guys with 200 hits!). I only got the one with the most recent Met connection.
