Found a site that has the 2010 slogans for some of the teams, I guess some are slower than others at getting them u.

Angels Fan Strong
Astros 45th Anniversary
As 100% Athletics. 100% Baseball.
Braves The Excitement of Turner Field
Dodgers This is my town. Dodgertown USA (They announced it would be back for 2010)
Giants Your Giants
Indians Are You In the Tribe?
Marlins Its Where You Wanna Be!
Nationals Get Your Red On. NatsTown
Orioles This is Birdland
Pirates Pride. Passion. Pittsburgh Pirates.
Tigers Always a Tiger
Twins Inaugural Season 2010
White Sox There are Traditions. And There are White Sox Traditions.

The Astros 2006 "Believe the Buzz" was pretty funny. Maybe it would have been more appropriate if they were called the Bees or something.

I like the "Your ______/Your City" slogans.

If the team's good, or on the come-up, there's an effective, understated emphasis of the tie-- however illusory-- between city and club, making it seem like supporting the team is part and parcel of being a good citizen, of living here, of your life.

And if the team's bad, it's even better, reeking of a sort of quiet, civically agreed-upon resignation. "Here's what you have, people," these slogans sigh. "Let's get through this together." (Congratulations on the richness, Royals!)

I picture the Buccos' slogan being delivered by Daffy Duck in a cloud of spittle.

Perhaps it's the 45th anniversary under the moniker, "Houston Astros" (as opposed to the Colt 45s).[/quote:mpmzurn2]

Bee-ngo.

These are a few that I remember:

[list:238whx62]The Magic is Back.
Catch a Rising Star.
Now the Fun Starts.
Baseball Like it Oughta Be.[/list:u:238whx62][/quote:238whx62]

Those were the winners. Other years, culled from memory and reliable Internet sources (which is to say once I saw them they rang true), included:

[list:238whx62]The Magic Is Real. Catch It Here.
Show Up At Shea
Are You Ready?
Amazin' Again
Excellence Again and Again
The Team. The Time. The Mets.
Your Season Has Come.
Let's Do It Again
Catch The Energy
Next Year Is Now
Hardball Is Back[/list:u:238whx62]

I'm pretty sure the brand-marketing folks would tell you the Met slogan for 2010 isn't "We Believe in Comebacks" but just "We Believe ... " with the idea that the rest of the statement is limited only by the imagination of the people trying to sell you something. They gave this away in that one commercial where various Mets profess to believe in "6-4-3 double plays" and "rainbows, puppy dogs and fairy tales." It's also a versatile little slogan in that it can be applied to the team or the fanbase. I'm sure as the season carries on we'll see "We Believe ... in Rivalries" before a Phillies series and "We Believe ... in Aaron Harang." etc etc. To the extent that I care about this stuff, I don't think it's so rotten, it's not like choosing a word with Metquity like "believe" was a mistake.

The Mets are fond of these mulipurpose, overarching themes and symbols in their communications, even to their own detriment, as when that CitiField "first base-line" logo* wound up everywhere including the uniform.

* - I understood what they were trying to do.

Isn't that what the Mets did with their 2005 "Next Year is Now" ad campaign? Next year was Pedro teaching the NL not to crowd and Laguardia complaining about the noise at Shea and wear and tear on the apple and Willie (ugh!) being a rookie again. (But what it really was was Miguel Fucking Cairo batting second in the middle of a pennant race and Wee Willie Randolph's bright idea to try and bunt his team into the post-season).

Yes.

That '05 team shoulda traded for Ray Durham at the deadline like I told them to.

Speaking of Mets ad campaigns, I don't recall seeing any commercially-sized poster print ads for the team in 2009. If so, last season would've been the first in about 30 years that the Mets didn't run a city-wide public print ad campaign. If I'm right, I wonder if the Mets thought they didn't need that type of advertising what with their new stadium.

There were "NEW HOME OF AMAZIN'" billboards, featuring Johan (and maybe others) at subway stations and other outdoor locations.

I kinda like the yearly slogans. They're cheesy and corporate, but you gotta do that stuff anyway, so why not a slogan?

The ones that are mallable are kinda fun to watch the evolution over the season (The Team, The Time, the 2006 NL East Champions..) We'll see where "We Believe in __" goes over the season.

I remember Lunchbucket's retort the moment they published the slogan "Your season has come."

Doesn't the stadium announcer chap read out the slogan when he announces " your NY Mets" as they take the field?

"The Team , the Time , your NY Mets"...

Not sure how he'll work in this slogan though.

Thanks. I know about the one with Johan Santana. I thought I saw a photograph of you posing beneath a copy of that ad at Citi Field on your web site last year. I also own my own large poster-sized copy of that Santana ad. But I didn't know that it was part of a public ad campaign, having never seen it anywhere other than at CF. Maybe the ad had a short run, or limited geographic distribution?

Remember that? Jeez. You'd think you owned a warehouse full of DURHAM #9 pre-made Mets jerseys that you were stuck with or something.
