My issue was more fatigue-related, since he hadn't gone two innings in a game since '07, and they were bringing him right back. But its all good.

I'd prefer to keep Santana's left hand (the one that goes "up" the bat on a bunt attempt and his pitching hand) as far away from a baseball moving at 90 MPH as possible.

They're flying to San Francisco (6 hours) in the lap of luxury on their chartered airplane, with prearranged transportation from park to plane to hotel. Even if they were to not leave NY until 9 tonight, they'd arrive in SF at midnight and not have to play a game until 7 PM (local time) that night.

Unless the Mets require 15 hours of sleep each, I can't see how this would be an issue. Travel day complaints are a load of BS in my opinion.

If they were flying commercial coach and had to take public transportation, then I might have some sympathy.
