Castro up... speculation about what happens when Schneid is ready to play. Castro is making 2.5 mil this year so does that make it less likely that he is cut outright?

I doubt he'd be cut. I'm sure a trade could be made for him. Even if the Mets have to kick in $1.5 million, it's still better than eating the full $2.5.

I wouldn't have minded a squeeze there.

I'm not quite ready to ordain Santos a big-league catcher based off a handful of games. I think its back to Schneid/Castro, with both of them thinking that their potential replacement is down in Buffalo.

It occurs to me while staring at Alex Cora this morning after seeing him a LOT on last night's Jumbotron... the guy looks a little like Harry Potter's Dobby the elf, don't he?

Why are we so hot for unconditional releases around here?

Damn. What the hell is wrong with Wright? Johnson's good but is a friggin' flyball too much to ask for?

It was only a matter of time before all those statements of respect for Derek Jeter added up, David.

Ooh, ooh, ooh... Mister Kaaaaatter? Can I guess what CitiField sounds like right now?

If I'm Johan, and I come up with men on, I'm refusing to bunt. 'Cause Lord knows, nobody else seems to know what to do about the duck-on-pond-collection business right about now.

All those in favor of just hitting Cantu every time up for the rest of the season, raise your hand.

(Cantu = Burrell, This Year's Model?)

Considering how he had been struggling, I advocated a day off for Wright during this series. I guess the injuries to Delgado and Castillo meant Jerry didn't want to take another regular out, but man, he is lost, offensively and defensively.

Well, Murphy did come up as a third baseman. Maybe playing him at third, Tatis at first and Sheffield in left might be a lineup to be tried. (and you hope your pitcher can strike out a lot of batters)
