Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Got out of that jam. I like this kid.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Cancel must have lost his mind as he gets caught trying to steal second to end the inning. At least Reyes will lead off the 5th. Maybe that was part of the plan all along.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Cancel has what we used to call "deceptive slow" as opposed to "deceptive speed."It's not that he's faster that he looks, but that he's not as slow as he looks.Niese going 2nd & 3rd 0 out for the third time.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Now do the math, Jeets.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 It looks like the Niese train has jumped the track. It's getting real ugly, real fast.

stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Any word on pen activity?
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 And it's Figgy. All of my projections down the drain!
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Getting Figgy with it!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Crazy inning.Beltran really rushed his throw, it almost hit Figgy in the foot and wouldn't have gotten the out if the slide wasn't so pathetic. OTOH, a good throw with a good slide woulda had him by a mile.Nice job by Figgs all things considered.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Big lead....pissed away. Wonder if Jerry will give more of the recent call-ups a shot to ride this one out. Figgy's a starter, right? He might get some more innings.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Hey! It's Carlos and Carlos on a bad green-screen Puerto Rico commercial during America's Got Talent!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Damn newbie. Apparently Niese wasn't familiar with the Mets way of doing things. Usually it's the bullpen that squanders the lead rather than the starter.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Nats aren't helping us tonight. But I'm still optimistic. Figgy's dealing, and we usually do well against the Brewers.. We're past Sheets and won't face Sabathia.Of course, we need to get their pitcher to stop hitting doubles....
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Call a Parra-medic!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 A rare good inning for Duaner Sanchez. Popup, popup, groundout
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I love the fact that we don't have to root for Mota anymore. He still stinks.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Damn. Some late innings runs would be perfection right about now.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 AL comeback player of the year -- sorry, Josh Hamilton -- is Cliff Lee of the Indians.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Oh good, Eric Gagne!
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Geez Carlos B. try and hit it harder next time.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Not this time.Funny how the Millers' manager is also willing to go to the grindstone with his beleaguered reliever.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I don't think I've ever seen a runner take out an ump BEFORE he reaches the base.
