So, who is to be among the faithful 55,000+?

I have tics for game 2 of the NLDS. I haven't lived in NY since '77 (had an early premonition that Hillary would represent the state), but I've been to Shea over 100 times conservatively. What I've never done is attend a playoff or WS game, so this is a first. To say that I am stoked would be an understatement. Yeah I know some of you have probably been to thousands of games, but c'mon.

I'll be at Game 1.

And I'm faithful.

Apropos, coming from Elster.

I'll be at Game 1, and I'm excited as hell.

I will be rooting for a mauling of Mike Mussina (try saying that 5 times fast) Wednesday night

I'll be at home in front of my TV, and I'm pretty darn excited, too.

I'm also glad that I have TiVo; some time around the third inning or so I'm going to have to run out and pick up my kids. How nice it'll be to have that pause button!

For those of you who have tickets, I hope you have a great time. I've been to five postseason games at Shea*, and the Mets lost four of them, including the first three. It's still great to be there, but it's much better when they win!

* 1986 NLCS Game 4, 1986 World Series Games 1, 2, and 6, and 1988 NLCS Game 4.

Not sure what this means. Are you in some way insinuating something about my fandom?

My quote had nothing to do with the Yankees. My point was that a huh-yuge number of the 55,000 with be bandwagoners and/or little rich pricks who are doing the trendy thing by going to the ball game.

i'm not sure if i'm hoping for a game 5... i want to go to a playoff game, and im not sure if i dont still have to pay for the ticket even if there's no game, but i don't think i would want the stress that a 5th game in the NLDS would induce...

If the Mets get two losses, you'll be hoping for a Game 5.

I'm hoping they never even get that first loss. Ideally, the Mets will win three consecutive close and exciting games.

Me neither

I'm in the same boat, but they say your credit card will be refunded if there is no Game 5. Anything else is probably illegal.

Right now (this may change) I'm thinking that I only want a Game 5 only if it's a guaranteed Met win.

I'm also one of those hoping and not hoping for a Game 5.

No, ideally win the games by the scores of 16-0, 13-2, and 14-0. But I'll take three W's any way they can get 'em.

No. I don't know you from a hole-in-the-wall. Kevin Elster was a notorious womanizer. Don't know i he was married, but if he was that would make him unfaithful.

Oh the real Elster. Yeah he got (gets?) a lot of ass.

Edit: And this post heads the page. Beautiful.

I will also be at Game 1 tomorrow.

The 4:00 start is pretty perfect for me as it makes it easier for my son to go to a playoff game and miss the minimum amount of school.

I'm coming into work in the morning. My friend will pick up my 9 year-old from school at about 12:30 pm and I will met them both at the The Big Shea.

Will be maybe my 8th postseason game at Shea. I don't think my record's too good, maybe .500, but this year I've got the facial hair working it.

I think that .500 is probably as good a playoff record as a body can ask, even though the Mets are, remarkably, 37-27 (.578).

Got comps this afternoon for Game 5 from a vendor, I guess the
party line is, "I hope I don't need 'em"?

I hope you enjoy 'em if you do need 'em.

My dad will be there. With clients. Without even asking me if I wanted to go. Sure, I had a class at 5, and a train ride home takes about 3 hours, but still, what's more important, really? One measly lecture or Mets playoff baseball?

I didn't post this last week, but turns out the vendor thing was a ruse to find
out if I could go Monday and my employer gave me tickets which he took back
today and got me tickets for tomorrow night. I'm gonna be like an expectant
father tomorrow morning waiting for the FedEx guy.

Any CPFr's Logein' tomorrow?
