There's a pretty open space behind home plate on the loge with plenty of stands close and it's kinda central to thewhole ballpark? That would be Sec 1 and 2. I plan on getting there early, is7:30 too early for a toast?I've resigned myself to a wet and cold night, bring it on Mother Nature. That works for me. Loge, behind homeplate, 7:30-ish.
Guest KC Guests Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 So far, I'm liking the NWS forecast the best:This Afternoon: A chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 67. East wind between 10 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.Tonight: Occasional rain, mainly after midnight. Low around 60. East wind 7 to 14 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 I will se ya there and then. Loge, 7:30.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 The far left field loge on the concourse is a wide open area. Since it's a big game, there should be beer and food down there, too. Not good for people watching, but out of the way. The only people who go down that far have tickets for those sections. Hey, Dickshot, that's where we saw "John Kruk"!
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Raining quite hard right now...

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 WORLD SERIES TICKET OPPORTUNITY Dear Mets Fan: Thank you for participating in the random online drawing for the opportunity to purchase tickets for potential 2006 Mets postseason games scheduled to be played at Shea Stadium. Your entry was not selected to purchase tickets for potential World Series games. Thank you again for your participation. The New York Mets
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Yeah, I got a Dear Looser e-mail also
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 At least you were an NLDS winner.I'm a three-time loser. I think that means life imprisonment.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 The crowd was great for last night's game. I will also give props to either the city or the Mets...whoever was responsible for parking. We arrived near Shea at 7, and followed signs to alternate Shea parking, wound up out past the unisphere, parked on a makeshift lot ($18), then a shuttle bus to the LIRR station and a short walk to the stadium, and we were in our seats by 7:30. I'd still recommend arriving early, but they seem better organized this year as opposed to years past.Oh, and attending last night reminded me of a great feeling at Shea: looking at the out of town scoreboard, and having it blank.
Guest KC Guests Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 [u:c32b5ade74]Side note[/u:c32b5ade74]: If anyone going tonight can use two Jets tickets for Sundayvs. the Miami Mammals, I'll bring them with me. They're good seats inSec 128 Row 31and are $140 for the pair (face).
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 There's a chance that I could join you tonight. Someone couldn't make today's game after the rainout and was there last night. I'll find out later today if he was sober enough to have remembered to leave the tickets for me at the "will call" window. Hope to see you.... Later

Dickheads.A friend of mine who went to a Division Series game said the same thing about the OOTS; it's kinda neat.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I guess it depends on where you're coming from, but mass transit to Shea really does seem like the best bet. When I go, which isn't all that often anymore, I drive into Manhattan and park on First Avenue around 40th Street. The parking there isn't too expensive. From there I walk to Grand Central and get the 7 train.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 i'll be out in LF, in the upper deck tonight... sec 34are any of youse meeting on the Mezz behind home at 7:30?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I think they said the loge level, not the mezzanine.Later
Guest KC Guests Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Loge concourse (or whatever it's called) behind home plate around 7:30. There's a rumor that soupcan will reveal at that time who the Mets mole is for a Heineken.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Oh, i thought he was going to bring stills of those girls' heinies...
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I'll bring my dad down & we'll say hi!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I won't bring my daughter anywhere near this group. But if the tix come through, I may stop by and say hi, too.EDIT: Just got confirmation on my tickets for tonight.See ya' .Later

Guest cooby Guests Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 I have seen a couple of people at every Shea game:A Meatloaf-y looking guy that they show once every game.A young boy with long dark hair and a beret-y cap.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Today is the 20th anniversary of my first time ever attending a World Series game. Darling vs. Hurst, and a grounder through Tim Teufel's legs. It's the 10th anniversary of my fatherhood. Special things happen every ten years on October 18.Now I have a box score to paste before I go to bed...
