Because of Perez. He's still 25, and left-handed, so there's a premium there. I know he's not Sandy Koufax, but he does still qualify as a prospect, sorta.

That's not worth Nady to me, unless Omar knew of another GM who was hot to get Perez, and had a followup trade in place.

And I guess that may yet happen.

But I'd rather have Nady and Bell and Owens and whoever than Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez.

To me- this is devistating news. A major bump in our road.

And if it wasnt for this accident, the Nady trade doesnt happen--

It was shocking enough to hear of the accident, but then to hear Nady goes to Pittsburg for the quick fix- ugh.

If Hernandez can give us what he did in 2005 - that would be a good thing.

And Perez was one of the best new young arms to come up afew seasons ago, but he has gone down hill from there, for reasons no one can seem to figure out. Maybe Peterson figures it out.
