Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Does a rather accurate comparison between an IGT and a urinal dishearten anyone else?

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 We don't really need the play by play. That's being recorded in about 8,000 places probably. Not that it really hurts either. Just need some more color commentary for posterity and fun.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Steve J -- I'm way behind on my email but yeah I got it. Thanks
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Why is an IGT like a urinal?

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Ya, I go for quality not quantity. And funny lines like Yancy pissing in an elevator.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Maine's in his first jam. One out, two on, Ramirez at the plate.Let's see him get out of this.

Not to be a thread dick, but IGTs are the last thing I'll ever re-read on this forum. Just a mass of photoslop and play by play anymore.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ]="Elster88"] We don't really need the play by play. That's being recorded in about 8,000 places probably. Not that it really hurts either. Just need some more color commentary for posterity and fun. I disagree. When I miss a game, I like being able to reconstruct it via the IGT.Well sure. But instead of five posts that simply say "Double by Cliff", like you get at other boards, people here add in the color.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 The play-by-play gives the IGT its context.Sometimes when I re-read these things, it's just a lot of YAY! or DAMN! and it means nothing.Maine fanned Ramirez, pitching to Jones with two outs now.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 The Mets have the top of the order coming up. I sense the end to the no-hit bid.I think Beltran (Vanis takee! Vanis takee!) will get a double.

It's just been more intensely so these days, both the image pileups and the lack of discussion. We miss the opportunity to discuss strategy, good lines get buried, etc etc.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Yahoo's fancy new gametracking doohicky is wonderful but doesn't update. If I hadn't closed the window, it'd forever be 1-and-1 on Ramon Castro.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 It's usually also only a few peeps at any one time. Day games oddly enough get the most action.Or maybe it's not so odd.
