Does a rather accurate comparison between an IGT and a urinal dishearten anyone else?

Considering other boards IGTs usually do laps around us, it is a bit disheartening

We don't really need the play by play. That's being recorded in about 8,000 places probably. Not that it really hurts either. Just need some more color commentary for posterity and fun.

Eighty posts saying "Home run" each accompanied by three inch avatars are not something to be jealous of.

I disagree. When I miss a game, I like being able to reconstruct it via the IGT.

Maine's in his first jam. One out, two on, Ramirez at the plate.

Let's see him get out of this.

I completely agree. Or at least, color and discussion along with PbP. Not to be a thread dick, but IGTs are the last thing I'll ever re-read on this forum. Just a mass of photoslop and play by play anymore.

Well sure. But instead of five posts that simply say "Double by Cliff", like you get at other boards, people here add in the color.

The play-by-play gives the IGT its context.

Sometimes when I re-read these things, it's just a lot of YAY! or DAMN! and it means nothing.

Maine fanned Ramirez, pitching to Jones with two outs now.

If you have an answer for that, it would be a great addition to the Saturday riddle thread.

Real good. He appears to be in command.

Just got out of that jam with a groundout. He's held the Cubs scoreless through six.

How does Maine look today?

After six scoreless innings, pretty damn good.

Let's get this boy some run support!

You're right, of course, but where did it all go wrong?

The Mets have the top of the order coming up. I sense the end to the no-hit bid.

I think Beltran (Vanis takee! Vanis takee!) will get a double.

Its like the old Koufax joke "Koufax threw a no-hitter." the repling question "Did the Dodgers win the game?"

Could it be because they both involve Flushing?

Well, of course it's my fault. And WP is correct that it's pretty much always been this way. It's just been more intensely so these days, both the image pileups and the lack of discussion. We miss the opportunity to discuss strategy, good lines get buried, etc etc.

Yahoo's fancy new gametracking doohicky is wonderful but doesn't update. If I hadn't closed the window, it'd forever be 1-and-1 on Ramon Castro.

Nice play by Mabry at first prevents Chavez from getting a single.

Beltran steps up! (Vanis takee! Vanis takee!)
