Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Strange choice. I just hope we don't need him on Wednesday and Thursday.Maybe Wagner wanted the inning. It can be a tough call deciding when your closer needs an inning to keep his arm fresh. You never know what's coming up.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 He probably wanted work, and once he starts throwing, you get him in the game, even if you're up by six. No reason warming him up for nothing.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 He should've been fresh enough, just having pitched on Sunday. Tomorrow would be the day to make sure he gets work in. Especially since there's no off day for two weeks. And shouldn't have even been warming, since we were up by 4 when he started warming.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 seriously; you'd have to question that. We're going to put enough of a load on Billy's arm, do we really need him going 30 odd pitches for a 6 run lead when we don't have another off day till the 27th April?I mean if Oliver can't pitch here, what's the point.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Fucking Willie. Maybe it was Peterson's doing.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Yeah, I don't like this move. I'm not going to get on Willie's case for it just yet, but if it becomes a regular thing, I'll be really pissed.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Up to 2 walks and 23 pitches for the Sandman.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Wild pitch follws a walk.Couldn't Wagner just throw a side session or something?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Billy, for the love of Christ, throw strikes when you're up by 6 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Maybe he wanted to practice pitching around guys, in case he needs to do it later in the season.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Full count. Just get this over with.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Ball f***ing four. They're loaded for Zimmerman.Hey, if he gives up a few runs at least we can bring in our All-Star closer.
Diamond Dad Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 One more baserunner and it will be a save situation -- just not for Wagner
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Strike three, game over, thank the lord.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Fucking Wagner always has to make it interesting.
Diamond Dad Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Strike one, strike two, strike three. Game over. That's more like it!
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 32 pitches for Wagner. So in a 6-run win we manage to use Heilman and Wagner and have Sanchez warm up.Way to go Willie!!!
duan Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 hallelujah. seriously though, what the fuck was that all about. Bring in anyone but Wagner there. Now you'd have to think he's unlikely to be available in more then 3 out of the next 5 games.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 ah-hem.Last year, we only had five 4-game winning streaks.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I think we can stop whispering now.
