Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Of course, Ortiz would've hit a home run. OTOH, A-Rod would've ground into a double play . . .

Diamond Dad Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Productive outs. That's the ticket!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Cliff gets it done with a sac fly to center.Sweet.

Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Wright advances to third on the play. Let's go, Nady!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Nady ignores me and flies out to right instead.Nady's 0 for his last 5 AB now. How long before the boo's start?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Vidro flies out to deep rightMoron pops out to rightFlash Johnson flies out to left center. Pretty impressive for the poised Bannister, especially given that these guys have already seen him once.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Nady has a rep for being streaky, doesn't he?

Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Back to Xavier, he was hot pretty much through the All-Star break last year (.839 OPS), then posted a .664 OPS after the All-Star Break. In 2004, when given the chance to hit, he did. In 2003, he did well in April, May & September, and sucked in June & July. I'm not sure that all combines to qualify him for streaky, but that seems to be his reputation.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Bannister sacrifices, Reyes with a ribbie single, and LoDuca doubles him home!Beltran at the plate with one out. 4-0 Mets!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Beltran walks. Delgado up with two ducks on the pond.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Delgado grounds out, advancing Beltran and LoDuca.Wright up.Will they pitch to him, with 1st base open?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Yes, they will. Ortiz went 0-2 on Wright. Now 1-2.And now Wright flies out to right center.Whadda bum.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Damn, Bannister. - A. Soriano popped out to second - R. Zimmerman singled to center - R. Clayton fouled out to first - B. Schneider popped out to third - End of Inning (0 Runs, 1 Hit, 0 Errors) Lookin' reaaal good from up here. Ortiz up to 82 pitches.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Mets go quietly in the sixth. Ortiz only had to throw 10 pitches, meaning we'll likely see him in the seventh. Except Marlon is pinch hitting for him now.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Brian Bannister, your 2006 National League Rookie of the Year.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 and now with marlon ph'ing for ramon he's outta there. I'd LOVE to work there bullpen REAL hard tonight. Lets make 'em work in the 7th, 8th & 9th. Try and burn a few pitches for tomorrow (especially after 'em going to 12 last night!)
duan Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 was that vidro fly as close as it looked [on gameday] to getting outta there?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I don't know if I'd go that far yet, but he sure is looking pretty good. 6 IP, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 K, 88 pitchesHe's still throwing too many balls (41%), and he's not striking anyone out, but he's they're clearly taking some bad swings off him (a lot of foul outs and pop ups) AND this is the second time they've seen him.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 After six innings, Bannister has thrown 88 pitches. Given up two hits, no walks, one strikeout.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Double for Bannister off of Zimmerman's glove.Best hitting pitchers in the major leauges, your New York Mets?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I'm hoping to be able to give Bannister a whole six-pack of Schaefer today.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 RBI triple for Reyes. Second of the year
