Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Wow. One of my early posts in this thread. Cool beans.
Guest mlbaseballtalk Guests Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Throwing myself in here, even though for the life of me I can't recall who I was on the MOFO all those years ago. =:(I might have been SteveJRogers as thats my usual forum name (and real name) and the name that I used in my "return" to the MOFO after a 5 or so year "break" from the Internet Met Community (AKA World Series Disapointment Hangover) When I came A-Board-ick to the CPF last year I think it was under SteveJRogers or a Met related handle like newyorkmetsbaseballmlbaseballtalk was a changeover on CPF since I was hoping to start signing onto other EZBoard baseball forums (i.e. SoSH) but never really got around to it yet. That handle @aol.com is the address I use for this account so it would make things easy if I ever had to log in rather than something completely unrelated (like SteveJRogers)Steve
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I remember you from the olden days. I found Mets Online late '97, early '98if my memory is correct and have been an Mets internet addict since.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Elster, I'm surprised the southern "accent" didn't give me away. I generally post under my original name (Rockin' Doc) from the old MOFO days. I changed handles (to The Hot Corner) when I joined the CPF so long ago. When the CPF moved here, I decided to return to my original name, for reasons I still don't fathom. I will update this thread to reflect now having 2 names here.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Unfortunately, the ladies here don't sometimes refer to me as "hottie" because of my looks.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 This split personality disturbs me.I'm afraid you'll start shouting on airplanes before long.
Guest cooby classic Guests Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I think we should start calling him "Hot Rocks"
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I was wondering where "Hottie" came from.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 What about some of the new guys...were they with us before? Zvon? Olerud Owned?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Olerud Owned refers to Shinjo as Mr. Sparkle. I'd like to hear where he got that.Zvon seems gnu.

I'd like to hear where he got that.Zvon seems gnu.I'm new, but I saw the nickname on the UMD and liked it, being a Shinjo and Simpsons fan. Sounds like it has a history here, though...
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I can't remember who first applied the "Mr. Sparkle" nickname to Shinjo, but it has been synonomous with his name ever since. Does anyone have a photo of the Mr. Sparkle banner from the 2001 season?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Centerfield wrote:What about some of the new guys...were they with us before? Zvon? Olerud Owned?Im new.I had come across ht e CPF when I was scouring the web for images for that baseball card set.I looked around but moved on.As time went on I found myself visiting places like the UMDB more and more. Mets By The Numbers,as well. Then I came across the CPF again and decided to join up.Alot of it had to do with the fact I liked the direction the Mets have been going in and wanted to talk with other fans about them. I think what made me decide to enjoy more time here was the game threads. It was really neat to interact with others watching the game while it was going on. Ill never forget my 1st KABOOM!lol.BTW- I am and have been Zvon on-line since I began my internet adventures years ago, and its the only name I go by through out the world wide web.(or a variation of it)
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Ha, I just saw the Shinjo banner in the photo's thread. That's some quality stuff. "AWE-SOMA POWER"

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I ask for a photo of the Mr. Sparkle banner and in less than 30 minutes KC posts not one, but three photos of it. Now that's service. Our admins rock.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I asked him about that. I don't recall his answer.Later
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Gold Glove has reported in safe and sound.
Guest Giant Squidlike Creature Guests Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 This also may be good for permanent links or somewhere it doesn't have to be bumped all the time.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I just find it funny that most of the last 10 people to register (including several in the last few days) have never posted at all.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Another interesting thing is that a number of the new id's have web-site links that advertise stuff. I wonder if some moran or a group of moransor some mechanized morans sign up for boards thinking they can sellshit by doing so.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Does that work?I can't imagine anyone here buying anything just because some newbie advertises it.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Hey, CF went all the way to Latvia just because someone suggested it.
Guest cooby classic Guests Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Did we lose new members? I thought FuntKlakow was an old new member.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I deleted a bunch of newly signed up posters who had misleading linksto a site advertising ring-tones. My guess is they won't be complaining -but we'll see.
