Especially not if three of first nine batters are erased on the basepaths. Four Mets have reached base yet the Marlin hurler has faced just one over the minimum on 33 pitches thru 3
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 And while Crash Christian is throwing well, he's already up over 70 pitches thru just 4 frames.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 Great Scott has struck out 8 batters of 12 outs recorded
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Vientos hits into another run-scoring double play Sorry, had to do some editing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I think the Mets hit more balls hard in that just completed 4th inning [Young - Vientos - Semien] than they had in the entire series in Miami last week.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 If your given name is Joe Mack, that pretty much eliminates the need for a nickname.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 Indeed it does I fully expect Semien to rake in the summer heat. Old bones and muscles
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 Joe Macks' nickname is Mack Truck or as noted earlier Mack
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 'bout time we got one of those cheapie doubles ... the Fish had several of them last night.
Scott Cooper Verified Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Hi There, I built a baseball stats tool for both today’s matchups and historical leaderboards. You can look up things like a team’s current roster vs tonight’s starter, or zoom out and ask historical questions like who led MLB in HR during the 1990s. It also has player splits, team pages, Statcast-style boards, fantasy filters, and news/team links. Still a work in progress, but I’d love feedback from real baseball fans. https://lustrous-taiyaki-2d05bd.netlify.app/ Marshmallowmilkshake 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Winning with a Brujan/Senger lineup would feel like stealing one.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 30 Posted May 30 That ball from Liam Hicks looked like a super ball. Semien was prepared to to field it and the ball practically bounced over his head.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Still five outs ahead, but shutting down Otto Lopez is a gratifying subplot.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Three straight wins. I'm on the verge of watching one of these days. It was too nice outside by 4 PM where I live so I took this game in on XM while I cooked and puttered. I will miss Howie Rose once he retires - while the other guys in the booth get the job done they ain't Howie. MFS62 and whippoorwill 2
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Was there with my daughter. Very windy and chilly for late May but it warmed up as the day wore on. Bobby V sure can talk---sheesh his remarks were lengthy. Saw Steve Phillips walking around the concourse and almost asked him his thoughts on the way this team is constructed. Running into outs on the basepaths is not good. A homerun from your backup catcher is. MFS62 1
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31 Posted May 31 C’mon Ashie, we need an IGT for today’s game. later
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I know it didn’t end up mattering. But let’s not let the idiotic squeeze pass without being mentioned. When you have first and third and no one out, the only thing that can’t happen is to have the runner on third make an out. You either have to score, or have a runner on third with one out. Three times this year, that runner on third took himself off the bases. It’s inexcusable and it keeps happening because our manager is a fucking moron.
