The glory of today's Game Two struggle against the Rockies has been banged out of respect for Lady Rain, gifting to all baseball fans a vision of rare and beautiful — but once semi-common — Sunday doubleheader.

Less felicitous is the news that the Mr. Met at the Unisphere Light-Up Bobblehead giveaway as well as Queens Culture Day will be rescheduled to a future date.  BOOOOO!!!  You could have moved that shit to an indoor location!  The Queens Museum!!  The World Ice Arena!!

Hell, you could have canceled the game but observed Queens Culture Day on the still-dry concourses.  This is Queens we are talking about.

Nolan McLean is schedule to go in the opener for the Mets.  The Rockies, at a loss for an answer, have yet to announce a starter.

The Mets really need to win 2 tomorrow.  Hopefully, the Mets pitching is on point and the offense can give them adequate runs to work with.  It has to be tough to feel like you have to be perfect in order to give your team a chance.

Well, the Mets lost the first game of a series to the Giants earlier in the year and went on to take the series 3-1

They also recently lost the opening  vs the Twins but still won that series 2-1

So there's no reason they can't win the final two at home against the Rox ... no reason that is except that we're missing our star player, and the starting pitching is often a mess, and the closer isn't closing well. And finally the part about them not being a particularly good team might also keep them from completing a DH sweep.

But other than that ...

Bob Nightingale suggested that internally the Mets are seeing Lindor back "weeks into June"

No surprise and no surprise either if this assessment is updated to All Star break

Brock, I'm sorry to be dense but what are these little charts?

They dispaly how many pitches each reliever has thrown each day of late, so we have a good idea who the Mets are most likely to use today.

The colors represent a degree of freshness.  Over 20 pitches is depicted in a hot red, presumably to represent a pitcher's burning muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Yellow represents a lower level of use on that day, and so presumably a lesser level of discomfort.

Green suggests, as I understand it, a pitcher who is as fresh as a daisy.

Home plate umpire Ryan Blakney doing a great Dutch Rennert imitation as Rockies leadoff batter Edoard Julen looks at three straight strikes and sits quickly down.

With the team playing poorly I wish Cohen would tap the breaks on his McLean love

Is is felicitous or fellatio?

What Gary Really needs to tap the brakes on is quoting a hitter's RiSP numbers as if it's a good predictive metric.

And that goes double for Keith.

It's nice when you have a guy on the ropes in the first.

It's not so nice when you fail to get to him, and then he finds his groove.
