Assad has been bad. Peterson and the Mets have been worse.

i can’t believe I actually thought they would win today. I fully expect a loss to finish out this sweep.

Let’s hope the friendly confines of Wrigley Field turn friendly.

The Mets have out-hit the Cubs 21-19 over the first two games of the series while being out-scored 16-4. They're also leading the series in 15-10 in LOB, a figure which doesn't include the seven baserunners they self-erased via 4 GiDP, 2 CS, and once getting caught trying to stretch a single into a double.

Just sayin'

I'm sorry for bringing this pox upon your house. There's no other explanation, really.

I don’t understand anything in Benge’s recent performance that suggests he should be leading off.

You can't bump everybody down in the lineup.  When a lineup where nobody is doing well gets shaken up, somebody ends up with the lucky draw.

Sure. But the guy with a sub .500 OPS?  I checked the splits. He’s mid 400s for the past 7 days, past 15 days and past 30.

That is all true, but I'm sure Carlos would tell you something about giving him a different look, see more fastballs, a chance to utilize his speed, etc.

When there are no good answers that are working we get bad answers and hope.  And if you aren't going to win, you might as well try to give a rookie's development priority.

It's all bad, but these are the calls managers make when the lineup is doing what it is doing, and multiple threads are speculating about their job security.

Maybe I was expecting too much, and maybe I was too spoiled by Iglesias, but I’m not impressed by Semien turning 2.

Not to look a guest homer in the mouth, but that's the Mets 16th HR this year ... 12 have come with bases empty.

And, no, it only seems like 3/4 of our plate appearances have come with bases empty. It's actually a mere 56%
