Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Maybe what they need after a few Hollywood Nights is some sunshine in Chi Town and a Saturday in the Park. The last place (NLE) 7-12 Mets take on the last place (NLC) 9-9 Cubs on Friday - Saturday - Sunday with all three games at 2:20 EDT Friday sees Kodai Senga vs Edward Cabrera [3 starts, 16.2 IP, 3 R, 10 H] who had spent his whole career (2021-25) with Miami until an off-season trade back in January. The 28 y/o Righty has good numbers this year although his history isn't as kind. In ten GS vs the Mets over his career Cabrera pitched to a 5.09 ERA w/lots of baserunners, thanks mainly to 33 walks (plus 4 HBP) in just 40.2 innings. Of course that was prior to the Mets adopting their current strategy of going to the plate with a rolled-up and damp copy of Good Housekeeping in their hands in place of traditional wood bats so current mileage may vary. I dunno. Last time, you said they were using old issues of Rolling Stone. Good Housekeeping strikes me as a sturdier makeshift bat. This, of course, depends on how tightly you wrap your periodicals, and how damp they are. RS probably gives you more coverage on the outside corner, though.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 16 Posted April 16 The Cubs pitchers for this series aren't all that scary. A good team should be able to score enough runs to win. Hopefully the Mets will start acting like a good team and turn it around. Sweep the Cubs here and it's a successful road trip. Take 2 of 3 and it's at least not a disaster.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Apparently the Mets haven't lost 9 games in a row since 2004 Curious , has any Mets team made the playoffs with this many losses in a row ? ( If it reaches 9)
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Your lineup today, and I promise there aren’t typos here: Benge RF Bichette 3B Lindor SS Robert CF Alvarez C Melendez DH Semien 2B Baty 1B Taylor LF
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I asked Alexa who was pitching for the Mets today, and she told me it was Bartolo Colon. Somehow, I doubt that's true. MFS62 1
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Geez, I didn't know this was a day game until now That's a passable Lindor Polanco is being evaluated today for his heel. I'm guessing DL. whippoorwill 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I just turned on the game, and when I saw the Cubs' uniform I thought the Mets were playing the Montreal Expos.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Suzuki almost face planted the fence Double goes to waste
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 They are WORSE than last year Bench coach Kai Correa is my pick for manager
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 What the hell, Senga! Is Bartolo available?
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Is the wind blowing out, or does Senga just not have it again?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Lindor, first-pitch swinging into a double-play is so counter-productive. Avoid double-plays like the plague, and win.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Ok. Back to work for me. That was miserable.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I TOLD THEM TO RELEASE THE WHOLE TEAM AND START OVER WHY DID THEY NOT LISTEN TO ME FFS
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 17 Posted April 17 This game is... what's the word I'm looking for... oh, yeah. Crappy. This game sucks.
