Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 It's just ridiculous, this pitching staff just can't get past the 4th inning intact.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Go ahead — give up a homer or two.Just don't, you know, walk the ballpark before you do that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Starling might end up swinging out of his shoes here.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 I can't believe we're losing this ****in' game!!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Even our hits w/runners in scoring position don't score runners in scoring position. It was a worthwhile send but it didn't work.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Bummer's done for the night. Next comes Ennui, Depression, Quiet Desperation, and Rock Bottom.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Well done, Chad Ochoseis. ^They can say what they want about Lentz being a hitters' ump, but the pitchers are all over the place tonight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 (edited) Most teams when they get a 6-run lead you assume they're going to win.For us you just hope they'll last until the 9th. For the Mets you just hope they'll just last until the next inning. Edited August 14, 2025 by Frayed Knot
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Soto swinging at ball four twice isn't a look I expected to see.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 This team does not look like a playoff worthy team to me. Since the All Star break they have been absolutely terrible. They have developed a sure fire formula for losing; poor, unreliable starting pitching that walks far too many hitters combined with a sluggish offense and an overworked bullpen. This team is truly underachieving. They infuriate me. I can only imagine how Steve Cohen must feel about this team after all the money he invested in them.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 I really thought once we brought in Stearns this type of collapse wouldn’t happen anymore. After showing an incredible ability to adjust on the fly last year, this year has been marked by ridiculous stubbornness. Including quadrupling down on Paul Blackburn. How many times can a guy play himself off a team.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Álvarez overswinging again, suddenly.Team has had their backs to the wall since that insane inning.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 They were down 3 runs with 6 innings to work with against a terrible team. If they felt like their backs were against the wall then that’s on the coaching. This team has played like they’ve had their backs to the wall for 2 months. Something has to change.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Getting hard to keep up with the lastest entry for "worst lost of the season" , just an awful team , but hey, these guys are too good to be this bad 😂
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 So the Mets are good again? Ok cool This is my fault I suppose.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Oh for ****s sake shut up about Cookie , GKR No disrespect to Cookie , but GKR have a tendency to bang on about players on other teams , former or not
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 18-32 since June 12th. The question is not "will they hang on to the wild card?', it's "will they finish below .500?"

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Bummer's done for the night. Next comes Ennui, Depression, Quiet Desperation, and Rock Bottom. BRAVO! A brief, but accurate, description of our feelings.Later
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 It was 6-0 when I went to get my steps and 6-5 when I came back. Incredible. 10,000 steps? That gives them plenty of time
