Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 So there's no extra runner in the post season? Excellent.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2025 Author Posted October 9, 2025 Kike Hernandez, who has like six big ABs in the post-season for the Dodgers every year it seems, has the game on his racket with 1st & 3rd/2 outs in the home half of the 11th.Orion Kerkering has brought his belt and sword to the mound to fight off Kike (and Taurus if he acts up again). ... but he walks him.So now bases loaded and Andy (my back) Pages to win the game or throw it to the 12th.The Dodgers got their only run tonight when the Phils intentionally walked Ohtani and then UNintentionally walked Mookie behind him.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2025 Author Posted October 9, 2025 (edited) [bIGPURPLE]DODGERS ADVANCE ON AN E-1 !!!!!!![/bIGPURPLE]Simple come-backer was bobbled by Kerkering who then seemed to panic and chose to throw home instead of 1st (where he had plenty of time) and the throw was both late and about seven feet off target. Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 Well that's gonna sting all winter for the Phils!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 Kerkering made the error. But bringing him in and pulling Luzardo was the much bigger mistake.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 The Phillies literally throwing their season away is pretty great. Time to root against the Dodgers now.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 I see it that way too. They're saying, we don't want to use these stupid rules in games that matter. And also saying that regular season games don't matter.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 I know he's a Phillie. And next year I'll root against him whole heartedly. But I feel bad the kid has to live with this now. Especially the awful takes that somehow he forgot the number of outs or that he was unprepared. Every comebacker is a reaction play. And this one was hit sharp enough that it's not a gimme. Once you fail to pick it clean all bets are off. He's just scrambling. Yes. He could have stayed composed and thrown to first. But this was much harder than some make it seem.

Well at least Philly fans aren't the type to go scorched earth on the guy.But he should probably move his kids into an unlisted elementary school just in case
